I was finally able to finish up a large commission a day or two ago! It consisted of 3 SD heads and two pet dolls. The heads I had already finished and posted over a week ago, but the two pet dolls, LoongSoul Poi, I finished up this week. I'm quite pleased with them as is the client!
If you don't want to read through my blathering about the two dragons, just skip down to the bolded FYI section to find out the news. It is in regards to when I'll reopen slots again. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break!

Since the last post, I had a couple more commissions trickle in, and I was able to squeeze one of my own dolls in while working on them! So today I have for showing the redo on a Goblin Tales Mossling in fall colors as his body blush flaked off, and the face up on my Dream Valley Ann.
Without further ado, onto some pictures under the read more break! I've made great headway on a huge multipart commission these past two weeks! I painted 3 Dollzone Dale critters on the creature body in different themes. They each got a fantasy face up and body blush. I'm quite proud of them! I wanted to wait to post them all together until I had them all painted. I finally finished them up yesterday. Either way, both the client and I are pleased! Without further ado, onto some pictures! So here we have the different themed Dollzone Dales! Air, Water, and Earth respectively. I was given pretty much free reign within those themes, though the client did want magic symbols/tattoos on them, so I created some! I went a little overboard with the details, but I think they were well worth the effort. I might make them some fitting eyes for their themes, but for now I need a break from working on Dollzone Dale, heh. Next up is a Dollshe Saint on the Hound body, I might even be able to start on him tomorrow!
That's all from me for now, until next time! Since I have run out of commissions, and don't have any new ones lined up, I've been redoing my own dolls. That's something I need to periodically do anyway, heh. This past week I had my Soom Beyla/Glot/Eliv with a Peapod Doll mermaid tail, and April Story Betty along with her hands on my work desk to be repainted. Without further ado, onto some pictures! So here we have my April Story Betty as well as her hands. Her hands had gotten horribly chipped since the last time I painted them. The blue french tip was a last minute decision, but I'm glad I did! Her face acquired two more piercings since last time (yes, I do applied piercings and can even imbed them in the resin if so requested), and her eyebrows are lighter to match her new wig! A quick comparison of her last and current face up. Her scar is less red this time, but still there. It simply looks more healed than previously. If you'd like to see a picture of her with her wig, I have one in the Owner Gallery! Next up is my Soom Beyla OE/human head in cream white. She's a little siren girl, so scales were a must! She was quite the restoration process. I'm at least her 3rd owner, and for some parts I'm at least the 4th. Her body is a Soom Glot torso with Soom Eliv arms and ears, and a Peapod Doll mermaid tail that I later uncovered to be a sakura pink color AND one of 2 with a fade from dark butt to lighter fin in this color! What a special little girl! I scored her on the DoA MP for a good price. She was double painted (as in she was painted once, and then painted over again without removing the previous paint job), and boy was that annoying to remove. First things first, I took her apart (some of her joints were glued together from acrylic paint...) and threw her to soak in some 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. I started with the little bowl to clean her torso of the caked on paint and the glitter. After much scrubbing I got at least her torso clean. Her hands were still with a lot of paint on them, so I left them to soak longer. I quickly realized she'd need to soak fully in alcohol for at least 24 hours to remove the remaining paint. So I did that. I poured 500ml of alcohol into some tupperware and put all her painted tail pieces in there. So here my suspicion of her fin being pink was confirmed! Under the hot pink and white paint was a layer of purple and gold. The purple and gold paint sadly stained her a little in places, but that's nothing I can't hide with the new blush job! After 1.5 days of soaking in 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, she was finally as clean as I was going to be able to get her. I replaced all the elastic in her and restrung her. She can do some cute things with her tail! Her face up is above obviously, but I haven't documented her body blush yet. So here she is all painted and refreshed! I slathered her in Aztec Gold PearlEx shimmer pigment after blushing her with reds. Please excuse the cruddy cell phone picture, my camera on my phone is getting dated...
The clothing is just spare stuff I had laying around, but the wig is hers and the eyes I specially made for her too. I wanted her to shimmer between gold and red as her parents are a Siren and a Fire Elemental. I think she suits them both! I'm so glad I got her after all as I'd been eyeing her on the MP for a few weeks already, trying to talk myself out of her. But I've wanted a YoSD mermaid for years now and was super sad when Peapod Doll closed... Either way, all's good! That's all from me for now, until next time! Whew, finally got some commissions in and managed to finish a multipart one already! I only got to show the Goblin Tales Mossling spring edition that I painted for a dear friend of mine. Without further ado, onto some pictures. The FYI will come at the end! I poured a lot of work into this little critter, in fact I devoted most of yesterday to painting him. My friend asked for a little lady bug on his face, which I loved. So of course I had to make it look like the lady bug would travel along the face haha.
Now for the FYI: With January over and it officially being February for a few days, I raised my price points by €5 each for basic work. It's been over a year since I increased my prices last and I feel my added experience and skill warrants a higher price. This is only for new commissions, not ones where I've already given a quote. Those I will honor of course. That is all for now, until next time! I was a busy bee this past weekend, finishing up 2 more face ups, and a fantasy parts blush on some wings I'd made myself and sold to a client. The face ups are on a Souldoll Vito Sean and my own Dollzone Daomiao-2. Sadly my lightbox decided to croak today and can't be used anymore without short circuiting whatever it is plugged into. It shut down my laptop twice until I realized what was going on... Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up are the wings I painted as sparkly as I could without using actual glitter on them. First I blushed them purple/violet with pastels, then coated them in 3 layers of Macropearl Shimmer from PearlEx, and finally sealed it with MSC Gloss to keep maximum shine/sparkle. I didn't install the magnets so that the client can choose which polarity to glue them in at. I did include the magnets however! Next up we have a Souldoll Vito Sean in normal skin. He'd had a custom face up from Souldoll, but the client wasn't happy with the facial hair. I offered my services to repaint him as I've successfully done facial hair in the past. The client also wanted the eye make up like in the default face up, and for him to have a light smirk. I'm quite pleased with the outcome though, and I hope the client will like the work in person too! A lot of hours went into that beard. Last, but not least, we have my Dollzone Daomiao-2 in normal pink skin. I'm not entirely satisfied with her eyebrows or eyelashes, but for now this face up is going to stay on her. I do want to get her lighter eyes. These were the only spare ones I had in her size, or close to it at least. I even tried out giving her eyelid crease lines, which I normally never do as I usually don't like the look of them. But I needed to pop her eyes a bit more.
I still have 3 things to paint, but one I'm waiting on until his body arrives to the owner. They are local to me, so we can huddle together to make sure the colors match, and if not, make them match! That's all from me for now, until next time! I was a busy bee these past few days. I managed to paint and finish up a commission that included a body blush and 5 face plates! The doll is a Goblin Tales Mossling in dark tan and orange. I still have more to work on for the client, like a pair of wings I sculpted and cast, but that is my goal for today. Without further ado, onto some pictures! Whew! There we go, all 5 faceplates plus the body. The body was all dark tan other than the lower arm pieces, so I had to paint the belly leaf and the inside of the ears lighter so I could match it to the faceplates. He's a little Autumn spirit, and I'm so glad I got to work on one of these cuties.
That is all from me for now, hopefully I'll have more work to show tomorrow! I was a busy busy bee these past few weekends and managed to complete two huge multipart commissions! There's so much to show I'm going to have to put things under the cut.
I completed the Nefer Kane Mystery Elf, Nefer Kane Sarina, Doll Chateau Snowman, and the Resinsoul Nian! I still have a lot more to work on of course, but I'm hoping to do that today despite the rain... Anyway, pictures under the cut! I finally finished up the Resinsoul Sui, now all that's left from that client is a Resinsoul Nian. The Sui left my whole desk purple, and so many cotton balls gave their life for his blushing! He was truly a labor of love. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble by just learning to use my airbrush, but I'd rather not experiment on client dolls... But anyway, onto some pictures! First up, his head. He's in white skin and his color scheme is purple and black. He actually currently has a silver wig, but I think a deep violet or black would be amazing on him too! I fought with the eyes because they are too big (Resinsoul included them). I haven't done scales like this in a while, but they look good on him! Next up is his body blush. He has muscles on his muscles. This boy is ripped. I extended the scales from the tail onto his back and blushed his body with purples again to match his overall theme. He also got restrung and sueded too! And to finish up showing his pictures, here's the rest of his fantasy parts in detail. Clawed hands, lizard feet, wings, and his tail. I didn't take a picture of the other side of his tail, but it's just a light violet, nothing too special. You can see it in one of the body blush pictures though!
I'm still very much closed for new commissions. I don't see myself re-opening until late September at the earliest... And I'll have to cut down on how many parts I accept per slot. With working 10 hour days my free time is very small and restricted to weekends only. I feel bad making my clients wait so long on face ups and such. For this client I have 1 more doll to work on, who needs a face up, body blush, restringing and sueding, fantasy parts blush, basically an all over job. Then for another client I have another 3 dolls to work on, and from a friend I have a smol Doll Family-A Luca dear to paint. Thank you guys for being so patient with me!! That's all from me for now, until next time! It's been a while since I've thrown an update up here. Work has been good, though it eats up my weekdays like no tomorrow. So I've had to cram my commissions into the weekend because I just can't logistically work on them during the weekdays (I work 9-10 hour days and commute for 2 hours every day). Anyway, that hasn't stopped me from making progress on my large commission list! The main doll I've been working on is the Resinsoul Sui. His colors are black and purple. His wings are huge, they are the length of my lower arm. Since I'm a herp derp and don't know how to use an airbrush, I've been blushing everything by hand with pastels. Let me show what I've done on him so far! Here's everything I've done on him so far. His head and fantasy parts are all done, all that's left now is the body. I got the first layer on the body almost done, and then I'll seal and do a second layer to make the colors pop more. Please excuse the crappy quality pictures, they were taken with my cell phone.
I've also restrung and sueded him, as well as fixed a broken finger. He arrived to me with a finger broken off and I decided to fix it good. I drilled a hole into the hand and the finger, inserted a metal bar coated in superglue, filled in the minor gaps with epoxy and once it was all cured I sanded it smooth. The first two times I tried to fix the finger with just super glue or epoxy it wouldn't hold. That is all for now, until next time! |
