I've been a bit scattered this month due to various reasons, but I was able to finish 3 more faceups, so that's a positive end for this month for sure. Two commissions, and one I squeezed in for myself as well after a setback with one commission that is still a WIP, but that is okay, I am able to continue on it this week.
I do have a couple WIPs on my desk currently, and 2 more incoming from April (shipping from the USA to Austria can be really, really slow!).
Once I get through those, I will reopen slots. Currently I am aiming for mid to late June for opening slots again. So keep your eyes peeled, I will post here for sure when I am able to take on new commissions!
Anyway, today I'm going to show an April Story Juliet with an eye mod, my Dollzone Minas, and a Gem of Doll Capricorn plus her horns. Without further ado, onto the pictures under the read more break!
So first up we have the April Story Juliet in white skin. She was given an eye mod by a previous owner, which is why she looks different. The client, a good friend of mine, wanted a soft and natural faceup for her. I was happy to oblige. I stuck some random green glass eyes in her as the small iris eyes she'd come with were way too small to look anything other than murderous and startled.
After all these years of doing faceups, I still struggle doing natural faceups on white skin dolls without overblushing them or looking strange. I do feel good about this one though for sure!
Next up we have my own Dollzone Minas in white skin. She used to be paper white when she arrived back in 2016. I ended up reshelling the character last year into my LC Allurial, so this head has been unused for a bit. I was going to sell her with my Dollzone Sawarieda body, but honestly I'm kind of relieved that the buyer only wanted the body. So I was able to get her a new one with the money and restructure the look for this head.
The faceup is heavily inspired by the wig I'd gotten on a whim from Dollmore last year, which is a gorgeous mix of lavender, purple, and teal. The filigree is shiny which of course does not come across in the photos. There's a picture of her dressed and wigged in the Owner Gallery.
Then here, last but not least we have the Gem of Doll Capricorn and her horns in white skin. Her theme was so fun to realize, as she is a moon dragon. So her colors are silver, blue, and white. I'm really happy that I chose to give her cloud eyebrows.
I did have a lot of trouble with the moon, as I tried to paint it first with
The horns are transparent resin, so I blushed them blue and added silver dots, as well as decorated them with silver rings in various sizes.
That's it for this time, just barely squeezed in there on the last day of this month a second blog entry. I will work through the things I have on my list currently and hopefully I can open commissions again end of June at the latest.
Until next time!
