Well, I got hit hard with the crud in December and wasn’t as productive as I hoped I’d be. I did manage some work before I succumbed to illness in the beginning of the month, but it was way less than I planned for. Oh well, at least I did get some things done!
Things I have to show for today are a Popovy Sisters Tawny Owl on Body IV in coral skin, a Fairyland Feeple60 El Elf Event A 2021 head, and a Doll Family-H 1/3 scale Small bust piece. The last two belong together so. Just as a quick warning, this post does contain doll nudity. Without further ado, onto some pictures and blathering under the break!

As promised, although delayed, I present to you the remaining faceups for last month. It took me a bit to get to writing the continuation for the November completed faceups, but hey, better late than never!
Today I got quite a bit of work to throw your ways, so be prepared for them! To show today I have a Faewoods Dolls Dahlia Skeleton, a Faewoods Dolls Orchidaceae Frankenstein, a Fairyland RealFee Luna vampire edition, and last but now least I got a trio consisting of Sheepy Dolls Pishu, Puff, and Fluff. So without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! This past month I have been a super busy bee with getting through many commissions, and I ended the month with a solid 11 faceups. I do have another I had started along with a body blush, but I ran out of time to complete them.
I won't be sharing all of them today, because that would make this the blog post that never ends... First up though, the FYI: As I already wrote on my homepage, I am closing commissions Friday, in other words tomorrow, because I want time to finish all the commissions this month, so that I can be away from home guilt free starting January 11th, 2023. I will be gone for 6 weeks, I will be home in the week of February 22nd, 2023. Weird to think that 2022 is almost done with. Thanks for understanding! Today I will share my Faewoods Dolls Orchidaceae, a Charm Doll Eric, a Soom TG Keny, and the Fairyland MNF Ingrid open eyed and sleeping heads. The rest will be shared next week in another blog post. Without further ado, onto some pictures! Thank you to everyone that has commissioned me since I opened up commissions in October. It took a bit to get my slots filled up, so I haven't officially closed commissions yet. October I didn't have terribly much to work on, but I do have some things to share! Today I am only sharing the work I did in October, November has already been busy and it's only day 9.
Things I worked on and completed in October are a Popovy Sisters Bony on the Body III, then a Popovy Sisters Little Owl on the Body II, a Frappzilla Moon Polaris, and my Kana Doll No. 8 Lucien. Please note that there is full doll nudity in this post as I did two body blushes. Without further ado, onto some pictures below the break! I have good news this rainy last day of September. I have pretty much caught up with all my outstanding commissions, to the point I finally feel ready to take on more work. I haven't been commission-less these past couple of months, taken on some here and there. I admit I was dealing with some creative burnout, but I am finally getting back on track.
So this FYI's TL;DR is that I am reopening commissions this coming week! I am aiming for opening slots on Wednesday October 5th, 2022. Important to mention is that I can only take on heads and mani/pedicures this round as I have two full body commissions on me right now that recently arrived, and to prevent a heavy backlog I want to limit how many body blushes I do a round. Thank you for understanding! Now that that's out of the way, I have a lot of new work to show! I got a Birdcube Lipu head and bunny ears, a Dream Valley Bustet body, a Dream Valley Rita, an Autumn Goblin Tales Mossling (all 5 faceplates and the body), as well as a Smart Doll Chaos V01 to show off. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! It's been a hot minute since I've posted on here. I have quite a bit of work to share since I had Covid-19 again the first two weeks of August. I have been posting the collages to the Examples section here, along with some new owner pics as well.
Despite this run of Covid being mild, it still fatigued me horribly and it's taken me quite a while to get back into the swing of working on commissions. I have finished 5 faceups, 2 body blushes, and some fantasy parts since then. Today I will only share the work I still completed in August, otherwise it's just too long of a blog post. Things to share are a Fairyland MNF Alicia, a Popovy Sisters Blue Jay and her body, and a Soom Heliot Fantasy head from the Cosmos release. Without further ado, onto the pictures and ramblings under the break! It is that time again to post new faceups I've completed the past month. I've also closed for new slots for the time being as I have a lot of commissions to get through, for which I am very grateful! Once I get down to only two remaining commissions, I will reopen slots.
I'm currently working on 3 heads at once on my desk, most of which are natural based so it should take too long to get those done. Another multipart commission arrived this morning while I was faceupping, so that is exciting too. As for the FYI, I have restructured how I price my faceups. Instead of charging based on the doll's height, I am going to go off head size, as I should have ages ago. When I first started faceupping, most dolls had the same head sizes within their respective ranges, but now there is so much variety that I needed to clarify my pricing. That way I won't be over- or under-charging for the work that goes into my faceups. I am of course honoring all the current estimates that I have already accepted. To get a better idea of my pricing, please head on over to the Commission & Prices page. Anyway, today I will show the faceups I completed in January 2022. Sculpts to show are a Popovy Sisters Blue Jay, twin Doll Family-A, and a Moonlight Jewel Dolls Aylean. Pictures and commentary are under the read more break! I was busy in November, and now in December too, so I got a couple of new things to show! I repainted my Lost Chronicles Allurial, and two commission faceups on a Faewoods Dolls Orchidaceae and an Immortality of Soul (old) Jaguar.
I have a good start on my remaining commissions as well, so those should be done soon once the weather stops pouring rain or being too humid. Anyway, without further ado, onto some pictures below the break! I have finished quite a few faceups recently, so I have a lot to share today! A couple are for myself, and some commissions too. My slots are still open, and I have only a couple more to get through before I can send this batch back.
Faceups today are on an Asleep Eidolon Col, LoongSoul Black Dragon Xunalong, then 2 Smart Doll Cortex heads, and a Lost Chronicles Allurial. The Loongsoul and the Lost Chronicle heads are both for me. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! Since I am on vacation this week, I have decided I'm gonna crank out as many face ups and commissions as I can. It's been a little bit of a slow start due to various reasons, including taking some time to myself, but I have laid out what I need to work on and am making a plan! I modded and painted an Impldoll Azalea basic elf (she is now human), and I painted my own Simple Divine Thomas head.
Before I show those, first the FYI: I have reopened commissions for limited slots, as I assume I will be able to get through most of my current ones by the time the new ones arrive. I apologize for the great delay in finishing the large full body commissions I got. I promise to get them done soon! Now onto the pictures! Work has been going well for me, though I'm gonna have some free time coming up as the holiday time is slow, so they asked me to take vacation days from the 23rd of December through January 6th.
Also it took me long enough to post these last 3 heads I painted and sent back already to their owners. Either way, I worked on a two part commission painting a 5Star Doll Peter and Ria, and a Russian Artist doll from Inna Pavlova, sculpt being Smiling Fenech Fox who is only 13cm tall! Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! I managed to crank out another face up this past weekend, on a Vani Dolls Hugh in white skin. He was definitely an interesting sculpt to work on due to his 4 mouth pieces. He belongs to a dear friend of mine, and they have a love for smokey eyes and bold eyebrows, a wonderful style to work in! Without further ado, onto some pictures! So there he is! I had surprisingly more fun than I thought I would with painting the mouthpieces. I don't know why one my favorite is! I even made him some small iris acrylic eyes as his eye openings are so dang small. The parts I'm most proud of are the eyebrows!
Either way, this is all from me for now! Gonna share a project with you guys at a later time. Until next time! Just as the title says, I'm open for more commissions again! I completed everything I received faster than anticipated so I was able to re-open before the month was up as well!. My new prices have gone into effect as well, so please be aware of them. Anyone that's already gotten a quote from me won't be affected as I'll honor those. I also was able to finish the last face up in my possession, on a Mithral Dolls Mirage in dark tan. She belongs to a dear friend of mine and I'm so glad she let me work on the second shell for the character. Without further ado, onto some pictures! The doll is a wonderful chocolate tan, which can be tricky to blush as the pastels change after you seal them. They always look lighter at first, fortunately I've worked on such dark resin before and can safely assume how it'll look once sealed.
I can't wait to see her styled by her owner! I loved the old shell too, but this new one is fantastic for the character. At least she no longer has a white wig, so I didn't have to battle with white eyebrows/lashes! That's all from me for now, until next time! Whew, finally got some commissions in and managed to finish a multipart one already! I only got to show the Goblin Tales Mossling spring edition that I painted for a dear friend of mine. Without further ado, onto some pictures. The FYI will come at the end! I poured a lot of work into this little critter, in fact I devoted most of yesterday to painting him. My friend asked for a little lady bug on his face, which I loved. So of course I had to make it look like the lady bug would travel along the face haha.
Now for the FYI: With January over and it officially being February for a few days, I raised my price points by €5 each for basic work. It's been over a year since I increased my prices last and I feel my added experience and skill warrants a higher price. This is only for new commissions, not ones where I've already given a quote. Those I will honor of course. That is all for now, until next time! I had a productive weekend and finished not one, but two heads! One needed to be wiped as well as her default face up was too soft for the character. Both belong to the same client, and they are a sibling pair. One is a Little Cosmos Doll Bastian and the other is a Little Rebel André. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the Little Cosmos Doll Bastian in tea skin. She turned out cute, though I struggled with the applied eyelashes. I might re-glue them before I give her back to her owner! Then here we have her big brother, an Little Rebel André in tan skin! For him the client asked for smoky eyes. And I made him some acrylic eyes as well to complete his intense look.
Both were very fun to work on and I'm glad I got to work on two new sculpts for me! Until next time! |
