Another rotation around the sun and I am a year older as of yesterday. This past year has been full of ups and downs, making me sick at times. I'm going to ease gently into this new year and keep my expectations modest haha. I didn't extend the contract of the job past my trial month, so now I am back to looking for something more fitting.
Since it was my 33rd birthday on April 1st, how about a special birthday sale? Commission one service, and get the second at 33% off! Discount will be applied to the smaller amount. I'm officially reopening slots for this month as I am nearly done with all my outstanding commissions! By the time the new commissions arrive I should be done with the others. Anyway, I got some faceups to share here! One is a Volks SD Belle in pure skin normal, and the other is my Iplehouse EID Camilla in peach gold skin. I have a couple more things to document, so those I will share in another post. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the read more break!

I've been super productive this month, not only did I do 6 faceups, but I also finished a manicure, a gender mod, and the long leg tattoos on a long-time commission. I feel pretty good about all the work I've done so far! I will break up the work into a couple of posts over the next few days, or the post will just go on forever.
The little FYI I want to cover is that I am going to start charging for old faceup removal, as that takes a lot of effort and time, and even materials. I sometimes sit as long as 1.5 hours at removing a faceup thoroughly so I can do my own. Charges start at €5, and can go up if the faceup is hard to remove. Thank you for understanding! Anyway, sculpts I will show today are a Napalm Doll Hush and her hands, an Asleep Eidolon Agnes (who got the gender mod from angel to girl body), and a Dollmore Judith Zinna. Let's hop on under the read more break for the pictures! I was busy in November, and now in December too, so I got a couple of new things to show! I repainted my Lost Chronicles Allurial, and two commission faceups on a Faewoods Dolls Orchidaceae and an Immortality of Soul (old) Jaguar.
I have a good start on my remaining commissions as well, so those should be done soon once the weather stops pouring rain or being too humid. Anyway, without further ado, onto some pictures below the break! So here is my second post to show some more work I got done over the last month or so! I still haven't gotten to documenting the Resinsoul Twilight body, but she is done as well. I'm hoping to document her maybe tonight or tomorrow morning.
Things to show today are a Peakswoods FOF Rabbit Goon, a Telesthesia Doll FeiHuaDeng, and a Resinsoul Dai. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! This weekend I was able to finish both the modded Doll Leaves Laura, and the repaint on the Dollmore Dollpire Shiloh along with her hands. I'm pleased with both their end results! The DS Laura I first modded fangs onto (quite a feat with how small the head is!) and then gave her a face up. That head is literally the size of a grape! The Dollmore Shiloh needed a full body and head wipe, a restringing, manicure, face up, and I restored her 10 year old fullset wig.
Without further ado, onto some pictures under the read more cut! I managed to crank out another face up this past weekend, on a Vani Dolls Hugh in white skin. He was definitely an interesting sculpt to work on due to his 4 mouth pieces. He belongs to a dear friend of mine, and they have a love for smokey eyes and bold eyebrows, a wonderful style to work in! Without further ado, onto some pictures! So there he is! I had surprisingly more fun than I thought I would with painting the mouthpieces. I don't know why one my favorite is! I even made him some small iris acrylic eyes as his eye openings are so dang small. The parts I'm most proud of are the eyebrows!
Either way, this is all from me for now! Gonna share a project with you guys at a later time. Until next time! It's been a little bit since I've last posted, sorry about that! I did manage to complete the face up on the Doll Leaves Alisa with the fang mod I did, and I started blushing the Miracle Doll MSD Girl body. Sadly the weather's been crap so it's been slow progress on the body blush and the Pipas. Without further ado, onto some pictures! So here's the Doll Leaves Alisa, in all her vampiric gothic beauty! She was a lot of fun to paint, and her eye makeup shimmers blue. I've really been cranking out gothic face ups lately!
I don't have much more to show or report, as I'm still working on the Miracle Doll MSD girl body and need to seal the Pipas so that I can blush/paint those as well. I'm hopeful the weather is better tomorrow, or within this week so that I can finish up the commissions I have on me currently. That's all from me for now, until next time! Despite being sick, I was a busy bee during the times I felt better. I completed two face ups, and received a third to work on yesterday. The heads I worked on were an Angel Philia J/Misa and a Crobidoll Daydream Lance Version 1. The latter of the heads I worked on is getting a full body blush as well, so he's not done quite yet. But anyway, without further ado, onto some pictures! First face up I did is on an Angel Philia J (a.k.a. Misa) head in white skin. The client wanted soft blushing, brown eyeliner with small wings, and soft lips. I suggested making them look like she's wearing lip gloss with a tiny bit of shimmer in it. The client liked the idea and gave the go ahead! So here she is all pretty and cute. Vinyl is still such a different beast to work on as it's much more porous than resin. I seal a lot more before I even start on painting. Then here's the second face up I completed, a Crobidoll Daydream Lance Version 1 in normal skin. This client wanted much more dramatic eyes than the last one, with a fade from dark to a lighter blue. I even gave his eyelids a soft blue shimmer to complete is look.
He will be getting a full body blush too, but I'm waiting until next week to do so, to give myself the weekend off due to illness. At least my cough feels better today, but now I can't stop sneezing, so that's annoying too. Please don't forget that I still have my sale going on until the 15th! Buy one service, get another at 30% off! That's all from me for now, until next time! It's been a bit since I've last face upped, but I finally have some new work to show! This time I painted a Fairyland MNF Shushu in natural skin and even gave her a fresh manicure as her last was a nightmare to remove. Without further ado, onto some pictures! So here she is, she's gonna be styled as a pastel goth once back in my friend's hands. I had a lot of fun with brows making them so bushy and big, usually I do more delicate ones but her previous face up had bold brows too so I ran with it. And once again, lovely ombre lips of black and purple! One of my favorite color combinations for sure. She does have painted lip lines, they are just hard to see in the pictures from the gloss. The hands were fun too, I gave the ring-fingers an accent nail color to tie back into the face up colors. Also, my sale is still going. Heads/Parts do need to be ready to be sent my way, so please keep that in mind when contacting me for the "Buy 1, Get 1 30% Off" offer! Please don't hesitate to reach out for a commission, now is an excellent time to do so, there's very little that I'm unwilling to do customization-wise!
Until next time! This month has been exceptionally slow for commissions, but that's okay! There's always next month too, where I have some commissions lined up already. Anyway, the new work I got to show is one for myself, and one was a commission from a dear friend! My own is a Doll in Mind Gayane in normal skin, who'd been a gift from a friend before I left the USA. The commission is a Youlpa Dolls Zenji in normal skin. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up the commission, the Youlpa Dolls Zenji in normal skin, I think at least. He's meant to look like he hasn't slept in ages, and lives off of coffee and caffeine in general. It was a lot of fun to give him mighty eyebrows and eye circles. That's why I love commissions, I get to paint things on dolls I'd never think of doing with my own even! He's a floating head currently, but my friend is saving up for a body for him. Then here's Autumn, my Doll in Mind Gayane. She's got quite the history being a gift from a friend! She'd been her first doll, after I snared her into the hobby. She fell out of love with her and decided to gift her to me shortly before my move. My wife and I were going to take her with us on the plane as all our stuff had already been mailed by that point, including all but one of our other dolls. We hit some big snafu's on the flight, like our carry-ons being too heavy, so we had to check one of them. One of our suitcases was too heavy as well so we had to leave a bunch of stuff behind with a friend, one of them being Autumn. My friend finally was able to mail her back to me this past month, but her head-cap wasn't included. She hasn't found it yet, so while she searches, I made her one out of Fimo and magnets to tide her over. Here's her before and after I repainted her. She had had a default face up, which was pretty, but it's no secret I have to paint all my own dolls or I can't bond with them. I'm slowly working on modding her body to be better functioning.
The DiM Happy Glamour Body is... janky at best. I restrung her with fresh elastic, and elongated the elastic slots on her thighs. Next up is hollowing out her hip sockets so she stops rocking back on her butt and finally sits up straight. I've never done mobility mods like this before, so it's kind of exciting! Anyway, this is all for now! I'm still open for commission as my slots aren't filled. I'm itching to paint more dolls! Maybe I'll repaint my Fairyland LTF DES next... Until next time! I had a productive week and finally got my first local commission! She's a Peakswood Romantic Lady Bee in white skin. I painted her head and all 4 of her hands. She's a gorgeous doll, and I'm glad I finally got to work on a Peakswood doll! The sealant was fighting me a little on her, but I managed to work with it. Still getting used to the Citadel Purity Seal instead of MSC. Without further ado, onto some pictures! I'm currently struggling with my lighting set up. I may just finally give in and buy a light booth, a small, foldable, desk size one for documenting doll parts. I think that would be a very good investment!
Either way, I have several slots open for commissions, so don't be shy! Send me a message either through DoA, IG, Flickr, or the Contact page on here! Until next time! I actually finished this face up on Sunday, but I'm only getting now to posting it. This time I got to work on a Withdoll Elf Hunter Emma in grey-UV skin. That resin has a slight translucency about it, it's very pretty! Without further ado, onto some pictures! I was asked to do purple smoky eyes, black lips with gold flecks, and white eyebrows and lashes. White eyebrows are always such a challenge for me, even though I like the end result! Fantasy colored resin always provides me with a learning experience since I have to use different color palettes to make them look natural. Always a fun thing for me though!
Now for the FYI. I intend to reopen commissions at the end of this week. I'm almost done with all that I have to do currently (just got the Ringdoll Fat Happiness left, who needs a dye job and a face up), so I'm just about ready to take on more! Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement! Until next time! Finally got some new work to show for myself! I've been struggling with time management and the weather, but finally both worked out in my favor yesterday and I was able to do a face up. I worked on an Obitsu Haruka head for a dear friend of mine. I'd forgotten how hard it was to work on vinyl when I'm so used to working on resin! It just absorbs color like crazy! Not in the staining way, it just sticks really easily to it so I have to be careful with how much pastel dust I put down. A lighter touch is better for vinyl I realized. Anyway, onto some pictures! One of the more dramatic face ups I've done. I had fun with it though despite the struggles of the canvas. I finally got to use one of my greens! I have so many green pastels, but I hardly ever use them... I wonder why no one needs green in their face ups... hmm.... It's a mystery to me! Then again, I'm much more of a blue and purple gal, with purple being my favorite color.
Either way, I'm down to two remaining commissions and one on the way. I'll make a blog post as soon as I'm open for more commissions! I actually finished and posted this one a few days ago, but I haven't gotten around to making a blog post yet, oops! Either way, I got to work on a Dollzone Vita in white skin. Next I will have to do her body, and the Doll Chateau Jakov's as well. My wife and I have been spring cleaning a lot so face ups have been difficult to do. We're almost done though, only the kitchen is left! Without further ado, detail shots! She's such a grumpy face. Reminds me a bit of my evil ballet teacher from when I was 11 years old. Either way, this girl is prettier than her.
After not being able to face up for about 2 weeks due to working extra hours and the weather being abysmal, I was finally about to produce two face ups for a friend of mine and her sister. Both required a cleaning before I could work on them, but that's not a big deal to me usually Anyway, onto some pictures! First up is my friends Fairyland MNF Juri 2011, who is very rare, and even rarer to find unmodded! Getting her old face up off was a nightmare, even with the Winsow & Newton brush cleaner it took me forever to get her clean. Either way, she is clean, washed, sealed, and repainted. My friend loves the way she turned out! My directions were to make her look happy, pink lips, brown eyebrows, freckles on the nose and cheeks, and black eyelashes. I'm super happy too with the result! I'm also including a quick before and after picture of her, just to show how different she looks after my handiwork. The old face up definitely wasn't bad or mediocre, it just wasn't what the new owner (my friend) wanted. Then here we have my friend's sister's doll, a Fairyland MNF Mirwen in natural skin. I was asked for dark eyes, dark lips, and loooong eye lashes along with a beauty mark under her eye, didn't matter which side. She was fun to work on since she didn't want her looking angry or sad, which is often hard to do with how the Mirwen brow bone is sculpted. I didn't have her eyes on me (she has green eyes and I didn't have any in her size in my jar), so I put some amber ones in her. I also did a before and after shot of her too. I also love seeing how different dolls look painted by different artists. It's always so amazing to me! That's all for now for face ups. Soon I will make a blog post about 2015 in review. I have the image ready and my thoughts gathered, I just haven't had the time yet to write it all up and post it! Stay tuned!
