Hello all! It's been a hot minute since I last posted, not for lack of having you content to post, but rather I had a lot of errangs and appointments these past couple of weeks. I am so grateful for everyone that commissioned me through my birthday sale last month, it's been a tremendous boost of confidence and joy!
I am still expecting a few commissions to come in, therefore I am still keeping my slots closed for now.
But in better news, I have a lot of new things to share! I have an Asleep Eidolon Agnes in SD scale, a Doll Family-A Auriel, a Dollzone Ivana set of wings, a Luts KDF Summer Event 2013 head, and a set of Smart Doll hands.
Without further ado, onto some pictures under the read more break!
It is that time again to post new faceups I've completed the past month. I've also closed for new slots for the time being as I have a lot of commissions to get through, for which I am very grateful! Once I get down to only two remaining commissions, I will reopen slots.
I'm currently working on 3 heads at once on my desk, most of which are natural based so it should take too long to get those done. Another multipart commission arrived this morning while I was faceupping, so that is exciting too.
As for the FYI, I have restructured how I price my faceups. Instead of charging based on the doll's height, I am going to go off head size, as I should have ages ago. When I first started faceupping, most dolls had the same head sizes within their respective ranges, but now there is so much variety that I needed to clarify my pricing. That way I won't be over- or under-charging for the work that goes into my faceups.
I am of course honoring all the current estimates that I have already accepted. To get a better idea of my pricing, please head on over to the Commission & Prices page.
Anyway, today I will show the faceups I completed in January 2022. Sculpts to show are a Popovy Sisters Blue Jay, twin Doll Family-A, and a Moonlight Jewel Dolls Aylean. Pictures and commentary are under the read more break!
Finally got around to finishing up my last two commissions, and I did some website maintenance as well. I updated my logo (minimal changes) and redid every page's banner with new images!
The two dolls I worked on are a DikaDoll Mudan who only got some elf ears from me, and another Doll Family-A Luca that got tattoos all over!
Without further ado, onto some pictures!
First up is the DikaDoll Mudan with a face up from another artist, and an elf ear addition by me. The client wanted her to have ears similar to Doll Leaves Theresa, so I did my best to mimic them, just with more detail. I then blushed them to match!
And here we have the Doll Family-A Luca I painted for a client. They wanted me to base her paint job on cherry blossom stained glass, so that was a fun challenge! She turned out lovely in my opinion and I barely had to make any corrections.
Anyway, I'm out of commissions currently, so now is the time to contact me if you want a face up from me still at my current pricing.
Until next time!
I hope everyone had a good Holiday season with much cheer and merriment! As well as a good slide into the new year. My holiday was a little hectic, but it ended on a high note, so that's good.
To finish up 2018 I painted one more doll, a Doll Family-A BoBo in white skin. He ended up becoming a Koi fish that I'm gifting to a dear local friend and their kids. And the Impldoll Colby arrived and is in process already, but no pictures yet as I need to send some to the owner to see what they think. The FYI will come at the end!
Anyway, onto some pictures!
Here he is in all his fishy glory! I did brush a ton of shimmer powder on him, which is very subtle along the fins after sealing. Also I swapped out his brown acrylic eyes for these red glass ones to make him really glow!
Now for the FYI:
It's been a long time since I've upped my prices, and I feel my work has advanced enough to raise them by €5 on each basic tier. I meant to raise them last year around my birthday, but never did. This time the price increase will come on February 1st, so January will still have my current pricing.
I wish for you all to have the best year yet in 2019! Here's to the future!!
I have a lot of work to show from the past couple of weeks! I've posted the collages already on the Example page, but I haven't gotten around to updating the blog here. But, that is being remedied now!
Dolls I worked on were a Kids Sky Gold, Myou Vera, and two Doll Family-A Luca dolls that belong to two different owners! Without further ado, onto some pictures!
First up is the Kids Sky Gold in normal pink skin. He's meant to be an albino boy and sadly his eyelashes got a little messy from swapping them too often... In the end though he's still cute!
Then here we have a Myou Vera in normal skin. He's absolutely adorable and I love how his eyelashes turned out. I played up the soft smile the sculpt has with paint. He barely gave me any trouble while painting!
Next up is the first Doll Family-A Luca in white skin. This one is based on a fallow deer. He turned out cute at least even if he was a bit of a pain to work on haha!
And here's the last little Doll Family-A Luca in white skin that I worked on. I went with a galaxy theme for the client. There's lots of sparkles all over!
Now for the FYI:
In about a week or two I'll reopen for commissions, but with limited slots. Due to my demanding job I can't devote as much time to painting dolls as I have in the past. I already have two slots filled for sure, but I'll have 2 more opening. I only have a Dollzone Scorpio left to paint from the last batch of commissions, so that's exciting!
That's all from me for now, until next time!
I was a busy bee the last week and finished up a gift for my sister, and a commission from a dear friend of mine. For my sister I worked on a Doll Family-A Mon and for my friend I painted their PinkVetch Voador flying pig and his mask.
Without further ado, onto some pictures!
Here's the Doll Family-A Mon in normal pink skin. I went with a stylized approach for him as his sculpting is very stylized. My sister asked me to write "Affe" (German word for Monkey) on his belly as a joke, but I did it anyway. I'll be handing him over to her in the next couple of days as he's her first and only BJD!
Then here is my friend's PinkVetch Voador flying pig with mask in white skin. I easily spent over 4 hours in one sitting painting him and I wasn't done! I was given artist choice, so I picked some colors I know my friend likes and went with that. I actually really love how he turned out. I can't wait to see some owner pictures!
Also, I still have plenty of slots open. I decided to put off raising my prices for now. So if you have a head rolling around at home in need of a face up and like my style, please don't hesitate to message me!
Until next time!
I finally documented the two previous face ups I posted, and did 3 more! That means I have a lot of pictures to post into this blog post.
First up is the Doll Family-A Fox in white skin. He was a lot of fun to work on and very simple too. I like how he turned out.
Second is my little sea monkey Pearl who is a Dollzone Dale on the human body in normal skin pink. She turned out a lot more elaborate than I though. Maybe she's a princess of sea monkeys?
Then we have a Dollshe Pabo in oriental skin. I really like the feel of Dollshe resin, it reminds me of Limhwa almost!
Finally last, but not least, we have the OE and SA heads of a Dollshe Ausley. I still have to blush her bust and her hands, but then she's fully done as well. Very lovely doll, I'm glad I got to work on one!
I'm also 1 face up away from 160, then I will FINALLY post my face up collage again. It's been forever since I've posted one...
On my weekend I did finally manage to have some time to face up, but I only managed to do 2 out of many I need to do.
The first I did is a fox face up on a Doll Family-A Fox. I still need to document him properly, but have a preview image! He's in white skin and this was him freshly glossed on my table.
And then I took a short break to paint my Christmas doll I got from my SO. She is a Dollzone Dale on the human body in normal skin pink. I'll still need to work on her body, but that won't be until I'm done with all of my commissions.
Both face ups still need to be documented to be properly added as examples. I'm hoping to soon work on the rest of the commissions I have accumulated.
