I've been a busy bee again and am trucking along at this 5 part commission (4 face ups, and a restring and suede job on a body). I already finished the body work, and 2 face ups, one of which I'll post in this entry! Yesterday I worked on a Miracle Doll Jing 44cm size. Working around all those eyeholes sure was interesting.
Without further ado, onto some pictures!
Here she is, the Miracle Doll Jing 44cm in normal skin. I was only given a color palette to follow (blue, silver, and white) and to make her fantastical. The head is a really interesting one with all the splits and the multiple eyes. She also is super shimmery as I finally figured out how I can paint with my PearlEx powders. I bought a water color medium (Winsor & Newton Aquapasto) to mix the shimmer powders into and it worked like a charm. I'm excited by that because I've been struggling to utilize my many shimmer powders in my face ups. But now that I can paint with them it's opened up a whole new world for my fantasy face ups!
I have a video on my Instagram that shows the shimmer pretty well! The client didn't send any eyes with her, and I struggled to find small enough eyes in my jar so finally I just put some blue beads into her forehead eye-wells. Works for the time being, but fortunately the client bought the right size eyes for her so I'm really looking forward to seeing her put together!
That's all from me for now, until next time!
