Another month (July) has come and gone, and I have a couple of new faceups to show. I have sadly been sick with the plague, again, but at least it is a mild run of it.
While I've been recovering from Covid I have been slowly working on my own dolls, as I do not want to germ all over commissions. Today I'm gonna go and get retested to see if I am still contagious or not.
Anyway, dolls to post are a Dream Valley Abu, a Faewoods Dolls Freesia, a MYOU DouDou and a Dollzone April.
So without further ado, onto some pictures under the break!
First up we have the Dream Valley Abu in normal skin, who got a faceup and full body blushing. He's a little fire guardian, so a flame colored mane was a must. The gold nose was a personal touch of mine.
Next up is a Faewoods Dolls Freesia in aqua skin. Her owner, a dear friend of mine, gave me a description of the idea behind this character, and then let me have fun with painting her. Her theme is a 1980s Roller Derby Zombie Girl. The tattoos on her face were painted to match the ones she has on her body.
She's a ooak doll made by Faewoods Dolls with different colored joints and tattoos embedded in her body. It's really fascinating how the artist does the tattoos. They carve them into the cast doll, fill them with resin, and then sands it all smooth.
Then here we have my MYOU 1/6 DouDou in normal pink skin. I know I didn't paint her long ago, but I just wasn't happy with her previous look. I tried a different wig on her on a whim, and I liked it so much I had to repaint her to match it.
I'm really glad I decided to repaint her, even if her eyebrows aren't even, they look better than in the last faceup I'd given her. My blending is smoother too, and the lines are less messy looking. I have a picture of her wigged and dressed in the owner gallery section of my site!
And then finally, but certainly not least, we have my repainted Dollzone April in normal pink skin. She's been one of those dolls whose faceup is really hard to pin down. But I am finally happy with her, took my only 4 tries HAH.
Her last faceup ended up getting super messy with my lines and shimmer distribution. But this time, she is perfect, or at least as perfect as I can currently do. I am currently at 539 completed faceups, my DZ April is my 30t faceup completed this year. I am excited to do more!
That is it for today, I am hoping to resume commission work this week!
