Since I was out of commissions this past week, I decided to blush the torso of my LoongSoul 69cm small bust body in normal pink skin. I have one more commission on me that I just recently received, so once it stops snowing I'll be working on that head too. It's a Luts SDF 2016 Summer Event head that I recently sold to a friend.
Anyway, onto some pictures! I'll put them under the cat as they are NSFW in nature due to the nudity!
I finally got around to color matching and face upping a head from a friend. I can't remember what body she's on, but it definitely did not match the paper white head on it. The only guidelines I was given were color matching to the body and a fantasy face up.
The head is an artist cast Sweet Dolls Alice, so she's not a perfect cast. You can see at the head cap how white this head really is.
Here's a cruddy cell phone picture of her on her body. The color match is pretty spot on. I don't know how to use an airbrush, so I did it all with pastels.
It is official, I'm going on my first vacation today in almost 2 years to see my family in Vienna, Austria. I'm taking my fiancee with me, and she's never flown international or really left the country before. So she's excited as am I.
I have a couple of things I need to work on, but they are on hold until I return on August 2nd. I extra bought a new camera for this (just a small Nikon CoolPix point and shoot) so we can take lots of pictures. I may or may not post them to Flickr, and perhaps the best here.
One last picture of all of our dolls as we bid them farewell for two weeks. Two dolls aren't in the picture because they are floating heads. One has a body on order and the other does not.
Our two kitties are really confused as to why we've both got suitcases. We have some friends taking care of them in our absence.
Since I reside in the USA, I figured I should wish all of my US resident followers a happy independence day! I've been in the US almost 14 years now (August is my US anniversary). My plans for today are doing some cleaning, perhaps another face up, and then going to my best friend's house to celebrate 4th of July like I have for the past several years.
Either way, last night I redid my Soom FCE Chrom's face up because he got a new wig. His old one was driving me bonkers, and I was never fully satisfied with his face up either. So now he got the spa treatment. I have a couple more things to paint now, so those will be next!
I'm really happy with his ear shading and around the eyes detailing. Last time I did his face up I had to use my old method (drawing straight with WC pencils onto the head) because he kept fighting me. This time I was able to paint the watercolors like I like to do now. His eyebrows are a lot softer and real looking in my opinion, along with his eye lashes.
Here's also a picture of his new wig taken early this morning. Those who aren't in the USA, have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend!
I've been trying to knock out as many commissions as I can in a timely manner and have gotten my to do list down to 3 projects. The MH dolls are more for fun than anything, so those are an extremely low priority.
But anyway, in the past few days I've worked on a Soom MD Ace and an Oceanmoon Sa-Yu BoNee. They both look so incredibly different, it's crazy! Both are white skin, but just the looks I was asked to do by the owners are so varied that it's fun to see.
First up is the Soom MD Ace. I did blush her feet and ears too, but I didn't get good documentation of those yet, and will need to re-document her face up too. But she's so cute, poses like crud, but she makes up for it by being cute. What was fun too was that I was just sent a picture of the wig color and I still managed to match it pretty well. I'm proud of myself.
And here we have my friend's Oceanmoon Sa-Yu BoNee. I actually documented the process of her face up while I was working on her for my new book. Yes, I am making a new face up book, one much more up to date than my last one and it'll have 3 face ups in it. I'll be bringing it out through Createspace so it won't be as expensive for the amount of content as the last one. Either way, I'm almost done with it, just need pictures for one of the chapters and 2 more face ups to document the process of. I'm hoping to bring it out by the end of the year!
I decided to share my doll family once again since the weather's been awful for face up-ing. I did clean up the Impldoll Xavier in my care, so he's ready to be made all pretty and stuff.
Anyway, this is my current doll set up:
Three of the dolls belong to my partner, but since we live together they get to sit with the others. I currently have 10 dolls and 1 floating head. The head has a new body on order and she's going to look amazing! I've also realized that half of my dolls are hybrids.
In the picture we have:
Back row: Lily (DZ Miss Kitty Head in the cage), Zephyra (RS Ai/DF-A/Soom Beryl hybrid), Val (DZ Chen), and Eva (DZ April who belongs to my partner).
Middle Row: Ursa (DZ Shoyo), Cel (Soom Shale who belongs to my partner), and Elyra (FL MNF Ryeon).
Front Row: Autumn (AoD AiAi/FL LTF hybrid), Liam (Impldoll Aldrich/Soom Chrom Hybrid), Prem (FL LTF Dark Elf Soo/Daisy Dayes hybrid who belongs to my partner), Rose (modded DZ Sheep/Daisy Dayes hybrid), Diuris (FL LTF Chiwoo Elf Girl) and Talulah (DZ Chinese Dragon Girl/DZ Miss Kitty Hybrid).
Within the next week my partner is receiving another doll, a DZ Gretta with Una ears/ DC Y-03 hybrid. I just bought a wig for her so that should arrive within the week too. I can't wait to work on her as well.
Either way, as you can see I have a lot of dolls, and I like showing them off in a pyramid structure. I once tried a different set up, but it looked horrible so I quickly changed it back to this one.
Almost all the dolls in this picture have face ups by me, only Eva and Talulah don't. Though Talulah will soon get wiped and have a new face up painted on her.
I finished my temp work as the receptionist at work. Her dad got a lung after all, so now he's recovering and his daughter is coming back today to Minnesota from Ohio to resume work on Monday. I'll still come in to the office, but not as the receptionist.
To make things more fun for me I took a doll with me to work almost every day this last week. Yesterday it was Val.
There's Val pouting wanting to go home, but I still had about 2.5 hours to go at that point. Just look at that cute face, it was so hard to tell him no. Too bad he turned into a butt once I tried to get home. Brat dropped one of his ears under my car so I had to lay down on the filthy ground to get it out. And then he popped off his wig. Brat...
Also I'm still waiting on a doll to arrive to work on, I should ask again if she's been shipped yet. Otherwise I have no dolls to work on currently.
I have a head and some fantasy ears arriving today, and I was finally told what my friend wants for her RS Ju head she left with me. So now I have two commissions to work on that are (almost) with me.
Another commission is being mailed to me today so she'll arrive either on Wednesday or Thursday.
And to reiterate I am going to be gone from December 22nd until January 6th. I'll be in Austria visiting my family for the holidays.
And last, but certainly not least, I was sent some owner pictures of a recent commission, the Doll Chateau Bella. She's absolutely stunning put together. I love seeing owner pictures!
I was given permission to post the pictures to the website, and I simply had to share this one for sure. It's my favorite out of the lot because I very rarely get to see the whole body of a doll I've worked on.
I'm so excited! The person who commissioned the Impldoll Kare stuck her under the shower for a fun little shoot, and the face up held up! That is so amazing to know. He takes really fun pictures of his dolls.
I love that shot. I got permission from him to repost it on my website here and I really wanted to share it.
His pictures can be found on his DeviantArt.
