While being stuck at home in blizzard yesterday afternoon, I decided to spend my time productively and do a face up! I repainted a friend's LumeDoll Blaze in tan skin. For some reason his face up keeps chipping after a while, this is the third time I've painted him!
The first time it peeled off because I worked in too humid conditions, the second time it took longer but I think I had a bad batch of sealant. Here's to hoping that this time the face up stays!
Anyway, onto some pictures!
These pictures do not show how tiny he actually is, which is why I have a picture of him in my hand as well (I have smallish hands being only 5'1" or 155cm tall). This is the best he's turned out so far!
I also finally figured out how to do his eyebrows without making him look surprised, and I'm really proud of his beard too!
And now for his two previous face ups!
That's it from me for now! I'm steadily making my way through all the commissions I have currently.
I'm posting the detail shots a couple days late, but these are the good shots of the last two face ups I did of January 2015. Things have been rather hectic and stressful at work so I'm often very tired by the time I come home.
Either way, on to the detail shots!
Here we have the LumeDoll Blaze in tan. Honestly the tan looks more like a normal skin but that's okay. He is very tiny.
And up second we have the Fairyland Chicline Rou in normal skin. He was described to me as bit of a Diva. Putting snakebites on something this tiny was an entertaining challenge. He barely even fought me on his eyelashes, which I always appreciate. He's also very tiny.
Quarter for scale!
This "weekend" I worked on the tiny heads on my to do list. One is the final redo I did on the LumeDoll Blaze. The other is a Fairyland Chicline Rou. I'll be taking and posting better detail shots soon!
Here's the LumeDoll Blaze in tan skin first. He looks a lot less startled than last time. I enjoyed repainting him honestly. I feel like I improved in 11 face ups since the last time I painted him!
Now this guy is a Fairyland Chicline Rou in normal skin. His owner described him to me as a bit of a Diva and wanted me to paint him in a gothic style and provided me with a few examples. The lips do have more red in them and I'll take some better pictures of him soon. His head is about as tiny as the LumeDoll above!
Since posting the preview pictures I've actually completed another face up on a Soom MD Ai. She's my christmas gift to my SO.
Anyway, onto all the detail shots!
First up is the Souldoll Vito Lester in normal skin. I was asked to put a rather morose expression on his face and light freckles along his nose and cheeks. He turned out rather swell.
Next up is the LumeDoll Blaze in tan skin. He is teeny tiny and got the tiniest of goatees on his face. I had a lot of fun with him but putting his eyes in was a nightmare. They're teeny tiny.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Soom MD Ai. She's an original release one too. She was super floppy, so I restrung her while waiting for the final layer of MSC to dry. She's my Christmas gift for my SO. It's okay to post her though, because she hardly ever comes on my website anyway!
I have two more heads to work on, and then two more arriving this week. I should be good until I leave on the 21st to go to Florida to spend Christmas with my SO and her family. It'll be fun!
Yesterday I got around to working on two face ups that are mostly complete. One is a Souldoll Vito Lester in normal skin, and the other is a LumeDoll Blaze in tan skin. The Souldoll needed freckles, and the LumeDoll got a goatee.
I'm very pleased with both face ups, as is the owner (they both belong to one person). All they really need now is gloss and the Souldoll needs eyelashes.
