Due to working two jobs and doing face ups as well, there's going to be some delays in getting the rest of my commissions taken care of. I'm very sorry for this!
I usually just do part time hours at my morning job, but I worked full time shifts several times this week, and the days I didn't I was working at my afternoon job. That one I work at less frequently, maybe 2-3 times a week. I also work Saturday this week, giving me a 6 day work week. Next week I have to work both jobs every week day. Oof... that'll be rough.
Anyway, I did manage to get one more face up done this week in the morning. It was a simple one so it went quick. I worked on a Soom FCE Thera in bronze skin.
I just love the Soom bronze resin tone, it's such a lovely and rich color. I was asked to put white freckles on her, which proved to be tricky and took 2 tries, but in the end it worked out. I'm also really proud of her eyebrows!
This also marks my 199th face up, which means that now I'll have to redo Zephyra, my first resin doll, to mark the occasion of 200 face ups! She was my first and 100th, so it's only fitting she becomes my 200th one as well.
Thank you for being so patient with me getting new work done slowly. You guys are really the best!
Yesterday was a good day for commissions, I finished up 3 heads in one sitting! Today it's raining and my back up place for face upping is not a viable option, so expect me to resume working on commissions next week like around Tuesday or Wednesday if all goes well!
Anyway, the heads I worked on was a pair of Dollshe Ausley heads (OE and SA), and a Fairyland LTF Juri 2014.
First up the Ausley heads. The doll is a high fashion model and I was asked to make her sleeping face look like it's without make up. I just stuck random eyes in her I had to make the OE head look a little more lively. I chose a different style of eyelashes for the sleeping head to make it look like she's not wearing mascara.
And then here's the Fairyland LTF Juri 2014 with her cute little kissy face. She turned out adorable I must say. I may need to rework her lips to make them more pink, but I'm waiting to hear from the customer first.
Also these face ups bring me up to 198 total. That means that just one more and I'll redo Zephyra as my 200th!
I finally got to see in person a Fairyland LTF Juri 2013, which I have always adored since it came out 2 years ago. For a while I was even debating changing out my Chiwoo Elf Girl's face for that one, but I never did. I don't regret it, but I still wished I had that face plate, though I'd never get it a body. I prefer SDs to YoSDs despite having 4 YoSD's (compared to 6 SD with one more on the way).
Anyway, let me show you some pictures!
So here are the detail shots of the cutie. I wish I had better lighting in my little work spot, or a second light to the right of me. I have a natural-light bulb in my desk lamp to keep the colors true while I work.
This weekend I will be attacking more of my commissions as I have a lot right now. But I'm excited to work on all of them. A few need to be restrung, which I don't mind doing. I just bought extra elastic fortunately.
Also, I am so close to reaching 200 face ups. This one is my 195th, so 4 more and I'll redo Zephyra as my 200th. She was my first and 100th face up, so it's only fitting I repaint her as my 200th. I basically redo her every 100 face ups to see how much my skills have improved in that time frame. I'm betting it's a lot!
With the weekend here I was able to get another face up done, but it got too humid for me to do anymore today. This one is an Akagidoll Ban in white skin. He was sent with two different colored eyes in because his owner isn't sure yet which color she prefers. I personally am partial to the grey, but the red is very striking too!
Anyway, onto some pictures!
He has grey hair, but I took no pictures of the wig on his head that the owner so graciously sent with for color matching.
Which eye color do you think is best?
Sorry for not posting anything through all of June, I was moving and changed jobs, and have been busy over all! I did get to work on commissions here and there, and I FINALLY have 2 finished ones to show again. One is a Migidoll Ryu and the other is an Angell Studio HongLee modeled after Itachi from Naruto.
Onto some pictures!
This is the Migidoll Ryu, I was asked to keep his eyebrows the same from his previous face up (which was very very pink) and make him look more like a punk kid. I was given a reference photo so I went off of that.
This is the Angell Studio HongLee, who I actually had to redo because I was given bad reference pictures where Itachi was using his eye powers. I never watched Naruto so I didn't know he didn't always look angry. Oh well, it's not the end of the world. I got him redone and approved. Monday he'll be going home!
Thanks everyone for sticking with me while I was getting things in order outside of the doll hobby and community. Now to poke at all the people who I asked to wait for me to get settled!
