I finally got around to color matching and face upping a head from a friend. I can't remember what body she's on, but it definitely did not match the paper white head on it. The only guidelines I was given were color matching to the body and a fantasy face up.
The head is an artist cast Sweet Dolls Alice, so she's not a perfect cast. You can see at the head cap how white this head really is.
Here's a cruddy cell phone picture of her on her body. The color match is pretty spot on. I don't know how to use an airbrush, so I did it all with pastels.
I managed to whip up a quick face up on my wife's Soom MD Wolf Knight Romantic (human) head this weekend because his character changed. He's no longer a righteous blond paladin, now he's a sassy purple-haired telepathic lawyer. Obviously that meant he needed a new face up to embody that character.
Anyway, onto some pictures!
I recently got more watercolor paints and one of the colors is a plum purple, which came in super handy when I worked on this face up. I did mix some more blue and white into it to match the wig better. I had to trim the eyelashes big time as they were 8mm long, and that just didn't suit him.
He looks so different in each picture, but I promise that's the same head. It's amazing what a difference a face up can make.
And now for a picture of him all put together.
As I mentioned in my last post, I got married this last weekend. It was a beautiful (and super short) ceremony. I'm the one in the dress and my wife is the one in the knickers and tailcoat. The weather was wonderful, even if I ended up with a migraine just about every day of the weekend.
Anyway, now that the wedding is over and family members are back home, it was time to get back to work! What I worked on was a Bobobie/Resinsoul Ya dyed to be a lovely dark tan color.
For this face up I was asked to basically combine two of my previous face ups. Dark eyebrows, black and white eyelashes, and white freckles along the eyes with natural lips.
That is all for now! I'm still waiting on a few more commissions to trickle in, but at least my new MSC is set to arrive today.
