With being out of commissions to currently do, I decided to repainted a floating head of mine as an alt-head for one of my own dolls. Her last face up was stubborn to remove, but hey, it didn't stain! The head is an Impldoll Azalea Elf, and her last face up I "lovingly" nicknamed the Candy Abomination.
Without further ado, onto the pictures!
So here we have my spare Impldoll Azalea Elf head in real skin. I decided to give her a glam look as my doll's other head is naturally painted without any make up. This face up took roughly 3 hours to complete, like half an hour of that was waiting for the glue to dry!
Here we have her two heads side by side. I painted the left head back in 2016 I think, so it's been a while! My blushed has definitely gotten softer and with better gradients. I also added "piercings" to her glam head that I painted yesterday, as the character is meant to have a bunch of them. They're just glued on though.
And I'll end this entry with the comparison of the face ups on this head. Now you can see what I mean with "candy abomination" on the before face up. Though I do love the new one!
That's all for now, until next time!
Since I'm still waiting on some commissions to trickle in, I decided to paint my Dollzone April (the new elf version). Originally I meant for her to be natural, with maybe some light make up, but she said no. So swirls happened. Today is just a short post, no novel post this time as I only got one face up to show!
Without further ado, onto some pictures!
So here she is. I did my best to match the swirls on both sides of her head. I feel I over blushed a little, but it just makes her look super wintery. I also didn't realize she has slight sculpted teeth! They aren't defined, but she definitely has a sculpted line for them between her lips.
I need to find her some better eyes I think, maybe some startling light blue or amber ones. I'm still deciding of course. The eyes Dollzone sent with were (as always) too big, and I didn't have any other eyes that suited her in my jar of eyeballs...
That is all from me for now, until next time!
I've been a busy bee this weekend so far! I finished up a Nefer Kane Mystery Elf in normal skin (such a delicate little thing) and started on a Nefer Kane Sarina in white skin. They are definitely interesting sculpts, though personally I prefer to admire them in others collections. They are not for me.
Without further ado, onto some pictures!
Here are the Nefer Kane dolls I've been working on. I haven't taken a picture yet of the Sarina's body, and her face up just needs painted eyelashes, gloss, and applied eyelashes still and she's done too. Please excuse the bad cell phone pictures. I don't like lugging out the DSLR for simple WIP shots.
I also took a picture of the Mystery Elf's eyes, because they are so small. They were a pain to get into her head because the putty kept sticking to my finger and not the resin. I won in the end!
Here you can also see the dandelion better on her cheek. I have relatively small hands given the fact that I'm only 155cm (5'1") tall, the eyes are only 6mm! Yes, I did measure them because I was curious. They are little galaxy acrylic eyes.
Tomorrow it's back to work for me, but I have Wednesday off so maybe I can crank out more work! I've been struggling a bit catching up with my face up work due to working so much at my day job (40+ hours a week on average, plus an hour commute to and from daily). I miss working on dolls consistently, but migraines have been halting my work on the weekends. Sigh...
Anyway, this is all from me for now, until next time!
Wow! It's March already, time sure flies when you're having fun! Anyway, I've been a busy bee again and completed two face ups this past week and sent them out yesterday. I worked on a Luts Kid Delf 2012 Winter Event head and a Luts Tiny Delf Tyltyl Elf, both in normal real skin.
Oh! I finally bought a small light box from Amazon to take my face up pictures with, but I'm waiting on it to be delivered probably today. I can't wait to give it a whirl! Only took me, what, 6 years to get one?
But anyway, onto some pictures under the cut!
