To commemorate my 50th face up, I decided to make a collage of all of the face ups I've done. There's some in there that aren't even on the example page because I never properly documented them.

I went yesterday to pick up some clothes I purchased for my doll Zephyra and was handed two Monster High dolls to repaint anyway I choose to. This is going to be fun.
I also want to plug the seamstress of Scoundrelle's Keep and her mother Sweet Gyrl's Creations on Etsy. Scoundrelle makes human sized clothes while Sweet Gyrl makes some of the outfits in doll size. Go visit them, give them some love! Both of their craftsmanship is astounding!
Here's Zeph in her Sweet Gyrl's Creations outfit. The corset is reversible and the skirt has multiple ribbons inside of it to pull it up. It's a true miniature theatre skirt.
I finished my temp work as the receptionist at work. Her dad got a lung after all, so now he's recovering and his daughter is coming back today to Minnesota from Ohio to resume work on Monday. I'll still come in to the office, but not as the receptionist.
To make things more fun for me I took a doll with me to work almost every day this last week. Yesterday it was Val.
There's Val pouting wanting to go home, but I still had about 2.5 hours to go at that point. Just look at that cute face, it was so hard to tell him no. Too bad he turned into a butt once I tried to get home. Brat dropped one of his ears under my car so I had to lay down on the filthy ground to get it out. And then he popped off his wig. Brat...
Also I'm still waiting on a doll to arrive to work on, I should ask again if she's been shipped yet. Otherwise I have no dolls to work on currently.
When I just got into doing face ups, a friend of mine got her first doll, a Resinsoul Ju in white. After a while she asked me to do a face up on her, so I did, making her my first commission.
It's amazing how different a face up can make a doll. I've mentioned it before, but the default BBB/RS face ups are so lifeless.
It's kind of funny how this doll is two landmarks for me. She's my first commission, and she ended up being my 50th face up as well. I've improved quite a bit since then, and I'll get better still.
Oh, and my plate is pretty empty at the moment, so if you have someone that needs a new face or a body blush, don't hesitate to message me!
A little view of the face up work I did today. The first is a patch job, the middle is my 50th face up, and the last is a Monster High doll I got for christmas that I was finally able to paint.
Oh man! I survived my 43 hour work week. That's really intense when you're not used to working so much, but at least I was able to be helpful and I trained really fast in new tasks I haven't done before.
And I have good news. The guy who needed the lung transplant got it! He got a lung on Thursday evening and he made it through the surgery fine. They're still watching him to make sure that there won't be any complications.
His daughter is staying another week in Ohio, so I have to fill in next week again. That means I can only work on doll stuff on Saturday until I'm either done filling on or get used to working 9 hour shifts at work and be able to work even more.
Anyway, I'm going to be working on the two commissions I have with me today. I'm hoping to get them done in a timely manner and be able to relax the rest of the day.
I've been filling in the past 2 days at work for the receptionist, and I have to fill in until Friday for sure.
That means that I have no time to work on my two commissions until Saturday. I wanted to work on them sooner, but with working every weekday from 8am to 5pm my energy is gone. It sucks too because the regular receptionist's dad needs a lung transplant, so he went to Ohio hoping to get one there, and his kids and wife went with him. I hope he manages to get one, but I'm not too optimistic (he's 68).
Either way, I'm going to try and crank out the two commissions on Saturday. One is a full fantasy face up and the other is a patch job.
There we go, back in the groove! This time we have a Bobobie Isabella in Fleshtone.
I love doing freckles, so much. And Bobobie's look a lot better with custom face ups than their defaults. They look so lifeless in the grey.
I arrived safe and sound yesterday after over 12 hours of travel. I had two 1.5 hour flights and a 9 hour one. The 9 hour one was torture because not only did I get to sit in economy for it, but the guy next to me had bad gas. Oh, and I had over 4 hours between my last two flights so I would make it through customs, and I got through it in 30 minutes. Figures. So I sat in Chicago for quite a while.
Either way, my vacation was very nice and relaxing. I didn't do very much, but I did draw a lot. I did get to see my nanny again who I love dearly. She took care of me from 1st through 6th grade basically. I learned so much about myself from her, it was amazing.
Also I should mention, my shop is open again! I'm back and ready to do business. I have one commission with me at this time, and a few I'm waiting on.
Okay everyone, just I've been mentioning, I've raised my prices for my basic services by $5 each. This does not affect people who I've already given quotes to with the old prices, so no worries there.
I'm going to be back in the US on Sunday evening, so I should be able to jump right back into doing commissions. I have one with me from a friend who I need to start over on. The pastels would not stick, so I have to clean off the head and try again. The head is also dyed so I've been a bit squeamish about cleaning it, but I hope not much of the color will come off.
