Well it's been a good hot minute since I have updated here. I have a lot to show! I will need to split all the new work into two posts I think so the blog post doesn't get too long. I still need to document the Resinsoul Twilight body commission.
Today I'm gonna show a Dollzone Sho, a Doll Leaves Lan, a Luts KDF 2012 Winter Event head, and a Telesthesia Doll Louis.Windsor. Without further ado, onto some pictures!

Since I am on vacation this week, I have decided I'm gonna crank out as many face ups and commissions as I can. It's been a little bit of a slow start due to various reasons, including taking some time to myself, but I have laid out what I need to work on and am making a plan! I modded and painted an Impldoll Azalea basic elf (she is now human), and I painted my own Simple Divine Thomas head.
Before I show those, first the FYI: I have reopened commissions for limited slots, as I assume I will be able to get through most of my current ones by the time the new ones arrive. I apologize for the great delay in finishing the large full body commissions I got. I promise to get them done soon! Now onto the pictures! So I've really dropped the ball on updating my website in a timely manner when I finished working on dolls. At least it's better late than never!
Things I've worked on lately were once again my Dollzone Daomiao (I hosted a small workshop over Discord), the Resinsoul Mei body, and I dented the Resinsoul Twilight commission. So good progress, but plenty more to do! Without further ado, onto the pictures under the break! Been a bit again since I last posted, but I have some fresh face ups to show! Two for myself (snuck in between commissions), and one that is part of a 3 part one. For the 3 part commission, I have done the base sealing on the next two heads, but I haven't had a chance yet to start painting them.
I have to show a Daydream Grace, a SIO2 Bailu, and my Dollzone Chen once again who had a sex and character change. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! Hello everyone and I hope you all had a great start into the new year. Mine was a bit rocky due to frequent illnesses, but I am finally on the mend so I was able to get some face ups done, but only two sadly. I have a couple other things started, but the weather's been abysmal and wet, and work has started up again too so time has been limited.
Anyway, the two heads I painted were a Doll Family-A Susu (for myself) and a Luts KDF Mill. Both needed color matches to different company resins. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! It's been a while since I've had anything to update, but I am slowly making my way through the commissions! I wasn't doing so hot up until this week mentally or physically, plus it's been super foggy most of the day. Today is no different and there's a blanket of fog.
But anyway, I completed the Unoa Alchemy Lusis's body blush and snuck one of my own dolls in for a face up as a little pick me up from the past few weeks. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the cut! Since the last post, I had a couple more commissions trickle in, and I was able to squeeze one of my own dolls in while working on them! So today I have for showing the redo on a Goblin Tales Mossling in fall colors as his body blush flaked off, and the face up on my Dream Valley Ann.
Without further ado, onto some pictures under the read more break! Well I haven't gotten as much done as usual, but I was able to squeeze in one of my own dolls, my Dollzone Daomiao-2, to teach a friend of mine how to face up. They did their first face up ever with just a little guidance from me (I only helped here and there, most they did by themselves!), and I'm really proud of them for taking the plunge! Sadly I don't have pictures of their face up, but I can show mine at least.
Pictures and more under the cut! Since I have run out of commissions, and don't have any new ones lined up, I've been redoing my own dolls. That's something I need to periodically do anyway, heh. This past week I had my Soom Beyla/Glot/Eliv with a Peapod Doll mermaid tail, and April Story Betty along with her hands on my work desk to be repainted. Without further ado, onto some pictures! So here we have my April Story Betty as well as her hands. Her hands had gotten horribly chipped since the last time I painted them. The blue french tip was a last minute decision, but I'm glad I did! Her face acquired two more piercings since last time (yes, I do applied piercings and can even imbed them in the resin if so requested), and her eyebrows are lighter to match her new wig! A quick comparison of her last and current face up. Her scar is less red this time, but still there. It simply looks more healed than previously. If you'd like to see a picture of her with her wig, I have one in the Owner Gallery! Next up is my Soom Beyla OE/human head in cream white. She's a little siren girl, so scales were a must! She was quite the restoration process. I'm at least her 3rd owner, and for some parts I'm at least the 4th. Her body is a Soom Glot torso with Soom Eliv arms and ears, and a Peapod Doll mermaid tail that I later uncovered to be a sakura pink color AND one of 2 with a fade from dark butt to lighter fin in this color! What a special little girl! I scored her on the DoA MP for a good price. She was double painted (as in she was painted once, and then painted over again without removing the previous paint job), and boy was that annoying to remove. First things first, I took her apart (some of her joints were glued together from acrylic paint...) and threw her to soak in some 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. I started with the little bowl to clean her torso of the caked on paint and the glitter. After much scrubbing I got at least her torso clean. Her hands were still with a lot of paint on them, so I left them to soak longer. I quickly realized she'd need to soak fully in alcohol for at least 24 hours to remove the remaining paint. So I did that. I poured 500ml of alcohol into some tupperware and put all her painted tail pieces in there. So here my suspicion of her fin being pink was confirmed! Under the hot pink and white paint was a layer of purple and gold. The purple and gold paint sadly stained her a little in places, but that's nothing I can't hide with the new blush job! After 1.5 days of soaking in 99.9% isopropyl alcohol, she was finally as clean as I was going to be able to get her. I replaced all the elastic in her and restrung her. She can do some cute things with her tail! Her face up is above obviously, but I haven't documented her body blush yet. So here she is all painted and refreshed! I slathered her in Aztec Gold PearlEx shimmer pigment after blushing her with reds. Please excuse the cruddy cell phone picture, my camera on my phone is getting dated...
The clothing is just spare stuff I had laying around, but the wig is hers and the eyes I specially made for her too. I wanted her to shimmer between gold and red as her parents are a Siren and a Fire Elemental. I think she suits them both! I'm so glad I got her after all as I'd been eyeing her on the MP for a few weeks already, trying to talk myself out of her. But I've wanted a YoSD mermaid for years now and was super sad when Peapod Doll closed... Either way, all's good! That's all from me for now, until next time! I had an itch to repaint one of my dolls, specifically my Dollzone April, because I didn't like how badly I over-blushed her. So shortly after completing my 400th face up, I'm already on my 401st! I also have an exciting FYI to share with you guys at the end of the post! Without further ado, onto some pictures! So here's my girls new face up! I kept the colors the same, just with much less blushing and switched up the designs a bit since the bangs of her wig hid the ones going up her head. I sadly fudged up the lips in the glossing stage, so I had to paint over them again. Oh well, better luck next time I suppose! Here you can see how much (or little) the face up changed. Also made her some bright green acrylic eyes, as the orange-hazel ones I'd made her previously made her look much too samey all over.
Now for the FYI! My 30th birthday is coming up fast here (April 1st, yes I am a joke and tell terrible jokes), so I wanted to do something special for it! How does 30% off sound to you guys? Rules are simple, they apply to any multipart commission I receive: Contact me from now until April 15th for a slot (I'll also honor multipart commissions I haven't received yet) for more than one service (i.e.: two face ups, body blush and face up, face up and manicure, etc...), pay one service full price, and any additional service will be 30% off! The most expensive service will be the full price one, and any additional ones will be at the discount. I'm willing again to take on up to 3 services per slot again, as I'm still trying to get a job so I have some time still. But do keep in mind that it will extend my turnaround time if I have more than one part to work on per slot! That's all from me for now, until next time! Cranked out a couple more face ups this week, one on a Fairyland MNF Momo and the other on my own Resinsoul Ai. I finally reached 400 completed face ups since I started painting dolls in August/September of 2011! The MNF Momo was a commission from a dear local friend, and the Resinsoul Ai is one of my own. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up we have the Fairyland MNF Momo in natural skin. She belongs to a dear friend of mine, who also asked me to make her some eyes. I let them pick the color (lavender) and made them with acrylic bases in 12mm. 14mm eyes were far too big and her original eyes were also way too dark. She had come to me with a Default face up (and too big eyes), but my friend wanted her to be a lot more pink. The default face up was very pretty, but not exactly flattering, especially how they did her mouth. And here we have my Resinsoul Ai in fleshtone skin from 2011 named Zephyra. This face up is very special as it is my 400th! I finally reached this wonderful milestone, and to celebrate it I repainted Zephyra. It's tradition for me to repaint her every 99 face ups to be the next 100th. I always keep the theme the same, so that I can track my improvement better. Hard to believe that it only took 2 years to paint 99 face ups (and a bunch of fantasy and body parts) to get here. She's gone through so many face ups, only doll with that many in my collection is Val (Dollzone Chen), who I think I've also painted 5 times. I'll need to check at some point to see. Again, for this face up I used Citadel Munitorum Varnish for sealant, and I'm still having difficulties with it. It has a lot less tooth than MSC, so I had to layer quite a bit more than I usually do. But, shimmer shows up much better post-sealing with this sealant. MSC likes to pretty much dull it away unless I paint it on. Reaching 400 face ups also means that I can share my monster collage again. On my computer it's all one very long image file, but I broke it apart here so it's easier to zoom in and look at the face ups.
Man... I started this collage when I reached 50 face ups, that's why the first image was really.... diverse in backgrounds. I eventually figured out that keeping the same background is a better idea for unity! It also wasn't until last year that I got a photo light box to take pictures in. My documentation pictures definitely improved once I acquired one of those. Still learning how to set my camera for it so I don't have to do as much post-photo color and lighting corrections. That is all from me for today, until next time! With no commissions to paint currently, I've been slowly evaluating which ones of my dolls need a refresher. This weekend Val, my Dollzone Chen in normal yellow skin, got an updated look. His head matches his body better too now! Without further ado, onto some pictures! So here's my handsome man. I wanted to mute his colors a bit to look more sickly I suppose? He's a vampire after all and shouldn't look as lively as he was. The part I'm most proud of in this face up are the eyebrows. I spent a long time on shaping and painting them! Here's the quick comparison of his old to new look. This is literally the 5th face up I've done on him, and I think I finally gave him eyelashes successfully. Though he did fight me on gluing them in place. I will end this post with the above comparison of all the face ups he's had so far.
Until next time! With being out of commissions to currently do, I decided to repainted a floating head of mine as an alt-head for one of my own dolls. Her last face up was stubborn to remove, but hey, it didn't stain! The head is an Impldoll Azalea Elf, and her last face up I "lovingly" nicknamed the Candy Abomination. Without further ado, onto the pictures! So here we have my spare Impldoll Azalea Elf head in real skin. I decided to give her a glam look as my doll's other head is naturally painted without any make up. This face up took roughly 3 hours to complete, like half an hour of that was waiting for the glue to dry! Here we have her two heads side by side. I painted the left head back in 2016 I think, so it's been a while! My blushed has definitely gotten softer and with better gradients. I also added "piercings" to her glam head that I painted yesterday, as the character is meant to have a bunch of them. They're just glued on though. And I'll end this entry with the comparison of the face ups on this head. Now you can see what I mean with "candy abomination" on the before face up. Though I do love the new one!
That's all for now, until next time! |
