First, my new prices have gone live as of last week, but I'm not quite ready to take on more commissions yet as I just had some that arrive yesterday that I accepted several months ago (they were sent from the companies straight to me). I'd like to at least get one of those done before I reopen my slots!
But now to get to the meat of this post. I got to paint an Atelier Momoni Somni, an Iplehouse FID Leonard, and another Resinsoul Mei. Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break!

Work has been going well for me, though I'm gonna have some free time coming up as the holiday time is slow, so they asked me to take vacation days from the 23rd of December through January 6th.
Also it took me long enough to post these last 3 heads I painted and sent back already to their owners. Either way, I worked on a two part commission painting a 5Star Doll Peter and Ria, and a Russian Artist doll from Inna Pavlova, sculpt being Smiling Fenech Fox who is only 13cm tall! Without further ado, onto some pictures under the break! Been a while again since I updated here! I have a few things to show that I'll gladly get to that I've worked on these past 2 weeks. I worked on a Kids Sky Tutu, Souldoll Vito Ciro, and Souldoll Vito Han again.
I also received another commission, a full body and face up job on a Doll Chateau Elizabeth in grey skin! Oh, and my mother is visiting me from the USA this week, so I won't be able to work on dolls probably 'til she leaves again. But now, without further ado, onto some pictures under the read more break! I've been a busy busy bee since the last time I posted. I managed to paint a Blythe head, a Figma tiny custom doll (twice), and a Volks YoSD Chinatsu, all different themes! The Blythe was an artist choice face up, the Figma got an elf ear mod and a cute anime-type face up, and the Volks became a cute little freckled girl.
Without further ado, onto some pictures under the cut! As I'm still waiting on a commission to leave customs (don't know the charges yet), I painted my wife's last two blank heads. They are Soom MD Serin/Rico heads, one is the open eyed version, the other is the romantic head. Now I just need to paint the torso of her Dollzone body and she's finished other than her proper outfit. Without further ado, onto some pictures! I worked on both heads together as they belong to the same character. I tried to keep the scales as identical as I could, so that it wouldn't be as jarring to switch between the heads. I love doing freckles, it's been too long since I've done lots of them!
I've been experimenting with Citadel Munitorum for my own face ups, as I'm trying to save my MSC for commissions. So far I still prefer MSC, I feel it has a better tooth and colors stick better to it than the Citadel sealant. For example I had to really layer the lips with far darker and intenser colors than I usually do when I use MSC. For commissions I'm still gonna stick to using the MSC, because I know that beast better. The Munitorum also has a satin finish rather than a true matte. I'm finally healthy physically again, will be heading to the post office today to send out some packages that I've been sitting on far too long. I apologize for the delay! Oh! Just a little exciting for me news, I'm almost at 400 face ups! I'm literally at 397 currently. Two more and I can repaint Zephyra and see if I've gotten better in the last two years. I am excited! Commissions are still open, so please don't hesitate to contact me! That's all from me for now, until next time! Just as the title says, I'm open for more commissions again! I completed everything I received faster than anticipated so I was able to re-open before the month was up as well!. My new prices have gone into effect as well, so please be aware of them. Anyone that's already gotten a quote from me won't be affected as I'll honor those. I also was able to finish the last face up in my possession, on a Mithral Dolls Mirage in dark tan. She belongs to a dear friend of mine and I'm so glad she let me work on the second shell for the character. Without further ado, onto some pictures! The doll is a wonderful chocolate tan, which can be tricky to blush as the pastels change after you seal them. They always look lighter at first, fortunately I've worked on such dark resin before and can safely assume how it'll look once sealed.
I can't wait to see her styled by her owner! I loved the old shell too, but this new one is fantastic for the character. At least she no longer has a white wig, so I didn't have to battle with white eyebrows/lashes! That's all from me for now, until next time! I was a busy bee again and managed to get two more face ups cranked out, one for a client, and another for myself. The commission face up is on a Flower & Junior Mizi.W in white skin, and the personal face up is on a Limhwa EOS Nina in normal skin. I'll get to the FYI after I post the images. Without further ado, onto some pictures! Here is the Flower & Junior Mizi.W in white skin. Her theme was fantasy utilizing black, gold, and red. I'm really happy with how she came out! I kept the fantasy aspects off of the forehead as she has a wig with bangs. She's the sister to the Miracle Doll Jing I recently painted. So swirlies for both! This also means I'm finally done with this huge commission of 4 fantasy face ups and a restring and suede job of an MSD body. Below is a picture of everything I worked on for that client. I hope I get to see all of these dolls in their owner's pictures! I love owner pictures and need more of them! But anyway, onto the other face up I completed today. Here's my Limhwa EOS Nina in normal skin. I made her eyes before I did her face up and boy are they intense! I love that I was able to give her freckles (sometimes dolls will fight me on them...) as she's a redheaded character. Painting her went very smoothly too, only took 3 layers from start to finish. I'll pop a picture of her dressed and wigged below. Now that all the new work is out of the way, onto the FYI!
I am open for commissions again now that I completed everything I had on my plate! Also, next month I'll be raising my prices by €5 on each sizing tier, so message me before April if you want the current prices still! That's all from me for now, until next time! Wow! It's March already, time sure flies when you're having fun! Anyway, I've been a busy bee again and completed two face ups this past week and sent them out yesterday. I worked on a Luts Kid Delf 2012 Winter Event head and a Luts Tiny Delf Tyltyl Elf, both in normal real skin.
Oh! I finally bought a small light box from Amazon to take my face up pictures with, but I'm waiting on it to be delivered probably today. I can't wait to give it a whirl! Only took me, what, 6 years to get one? But anyway, onto some pictures under the cut! Since I'm still waiting on my next commissions to come in, I decided to repaint a head I modded ages ago for my wife. The head is a Dollzone April, who I modded from open-eyed to dreaming. It was my first eye mod ever, so it's not perfect, but it looks good enough! Without further ado, onto some pictures! My wife has always wanted me to match her face up to the default on her normal Dollzone April. I had to try and color match, which let me tell you is difficult without an airbrush, to cover the mods. She turned out a little dark, but it's hard to tell in pictures. I'm already plotting how I'd redo this face up down the line. Here you can see the original face up I slapped on her on the left. It was very pretty, but not quite what my wife wanted. It only took me 3-4 years to redo the head. It was low priority since my wife rarely plays with her dolls anymore, but I was itching to paint something, so she was grabbed out of the parts drawer, haha! I will end this post with a comparison picture of the two Dollzone April heads. On the left is the modded one, on the right is the un-modded one with default face up that I added freckles to.
Until next time! I had a very productive Saturday yesterday, I did 3 face ups from start to finish! I painted a HZ Wang-Ye in tan skin, a Fairyland MNF RFA event head in natural skin, and a Resinsoul Rong head in white skin. The two MSD sized heads were from one client, and the Wang-Ye was from another. I have one more doll to do for that client and everyone can go home! Anyway, without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the HZ Wang-Ye, or as the client calls him "Mr. Angry-Face". He came with a face up already which the client wanted me to redo with more anger in the brows. Before he kinda just looked like "Meh", now he's full on rage! Figuring out the blushing palette was interesting as his resin is kind of translucent. Here's his before and after image. The client asked me to keep the designs as close as possible like on the first face up, but with some small modifications. He's definitely an angry doll! Next up are the two MSD sized heads for a different client! I always love working on their dolls. First up is the Fairyland MNF RFA event head in natural skin. With this face up I was asked for freckles along the cheeks and nose, natural blushing and make up. I always love doing freckles, pity hardly any of my dolls have them! Then last, but certainly not least, is the Resinsoul Rong in white skin. She's a woodland sprite/nymph and I was asked to keep her color scheme in tune with that, but otherwise I had a lot of freedom. She was oddly yellowed in the face, which is really strange as she's been in a bag since the client dropped her off with me. I managed to cover it with the face up at least!
That's all for now, until next time! I had a productive weekend and finished a face up and body blush on a Lillycat Chibbi-Lana in peachy normal skin. The client had her sent directly to me from the company. I was asked to paint her with freckles all over her face and body. I had a lot of fun! Without further ado, onto some pictures! It's sad how my pictures never give justice to my work. Might be because I don't actually have a lightbox and just use a cloth draped over my desk and my lamp. At least I do have a daylight bulb in my desk lamp. But I digress. I loved painting the little teeth on her, she's quite small! Work that was done:
The client also sent me her wig to color match her eyebrows and eyelashes to it. She reminds me a lot of my doll Melody, my Doll Chateau Snow Nymph, but fairy sized! My wife was the one to point that out, but I can definitely see it!
Until next time! I managed to finish up the two face ups from the last post, and the body/fantasy blush for the Doll Chateau Jakov. The Fairyland PukiFee Halloween event faceplate only needed gloss as he was pretty much done. The Jakov needed his lips tweaked, gloss, and his body and fantasy parts blushed. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the Fairyland PukiFee Halloween event faceplate from a year or so ago. He's got a certain charm about him! The client asked for natural blush and freckles. Then we have the Doll Chateau Jakov in white skin, who is a little imp/demon boy. I've worked on one before, but he had a very different theme from this one! I always love how different owners style the same sculpts. I'm rather proud of the wings and tail as I did that all with pastels. One day I may learn to use an airbrush, but for now, pastels and brush work well for me! I will end this post with a full body picture of the Jakov all put together. I can't wait to see what the owner will do with him and the Halloween faceplate!
I have some new work to show from the weekend, but it's still very much WIP. I started on a Fairyland PKF Halloween Event face plate from a year or so ago, and on another Doll Chateau Jakov. The PKF is almost done, the Jakov's face I have to tweak a little and start on the body/fantasy blushing. The PKF just needs gloss now, while the Jakov needs his lips redone, which shouldn't be too big of a task. I love how different both of these look from the previous times I've worked on these sculpts.
My work schedule has been crazy again this week as one of our closing receptionists quit on the spot, so we're trying to figure out the coverage for those two days as there's only two of us who can work then, and we're both openers. We'll figure it out until someone new gets hired and trained in. Anyway, until next time! I finally documented the Luts Senior Delf Girl Type 1 body in light tan yesterday and got the images approved by the client. Now just to pack her up, the SDF Summer 2016 event head and get some shipping estimates! Anyway, onto some pictures! I'm quite proud of the blushing, and it really is a beautiful body and poses oh so nicely. She has subtle freckling all along her chest and back, and some along her upper arms. I tried to keep them in places where the joints wouldn't rub in the sockets. Now to just get her packed up and sent home! I'm hoping today to work on more face ups again as yesterday I hit a wall after work due to a bad migraine. I'm feeling much better today and as long as the weather holds I should be fine! This morning I also FINALLY dusted the doll dresser, it was getting pretty grey from dark brown/nearly black. Whoops... It just took a little bit because there's 27 dolls between my wife and I. The cats were most excited by the dresser being doll-less and I had to shoo them away the boogers. This is all of them currently. I'm slowly saving up towards one more, but I fear I have to grab into my doll fund to get my car fixed. Something got mucked up when I got new tires and the alignment fixed... Now my car won't start properly. Fortunately we do have enough saved up to maintain my car. We can't afford for me not to be mobile on my own. Sorry for the rambling!
Anyway, that's all from me for now, until next time! I had a nice and productive weekend! I finished up two face ups (one I did twice because the sealant frosted and almost flaked the first time), and a body blush! The face ups are on an Orange Tea Dolls Olivka and Violka in dark tan. The body blush is a Luts Senior Delf girl body in light tan. Anyway, onto some pictures! First up is the Orange Tea Dolls Violka in dark tan. This is possibly the darkest resin I've worked on thus far (besides that little black cat). It was an interesting challenge to figure out the color palette for blushing. The client wanted natural face ups for both Violka and Olivka. Then next up we have the Olivka in dark tan. This one I had to do twice because my sealant frosted really bad on her and created weird spider web patterns. At least it was a natural face up and not a super detailed fantasy one. I haven't properly documented the body blush on the Luts Senior Delf girl body yet, but I will today. For now I just have some badly lit pictures on my desk. She's definitely a gorgeous one. I did the face up a little ways back, and worked back into it yesterday to pop the lips more. For the body I did freckles, blushing, and a french manicure. The client didn't want her feet blushed as she's intending to get her some high heeled feet down the line. Now to document everything properly once I find the time after work!
Also, I just need to gush about this, but I overshot my secondary goal for this year in face up milestones! My first was to get to 250 completed face ups total since starting to do them, and then my secondary goal was 275. I'm now at 276 completed face ups and it's only October! So far this year I've done 61 face ups (and some body blushes too, but I don't count those towards the face up collage). Usually I do on average 55 face ups a year, so I feel I'm doing quite well! I still have more to do before I re-open commissions again. That's it for now, until next time! |
