As the title says, only 2 days remain to partake in the Birthday Sale! Buy one service, get another at 30% off! Also I managed to crank out another commission, this time I repainted a Fairyland PukiFee Luna in tan skin. I matched her eyebrows and eyelashes to her wig, she turned out darling if I may say so. Without further ado, onto some pictures! The wig is a short little curly thing that is absolutely adorable, but I sadly don't have any pictures of it placed against her faceplate with the finished face up. I wasn't sent her eyes so I used the only pair I had in my jar that fit her eye-wells. In other news, I'm nearly completion with the Crobidoll Daydream Lance commission. His torso is mostly blushed, and his hands and feet are also just about done. Next come his arms and legs! No pictures currently as I'd only have some cell phone shots and they really don't show things well.
That's all from me for now, until next time!

Just as the title says, I'm open for more commissions again! I completed everything I received faster than anticipated so I was able to re-open before the month was up as well!. My new prices have gone into effect as well, so please be aware of them. Anyone that's already gotten a quote from me won't be affected as I'll honor those. I also was able to finish the last face up in my possession, on a Mithral Dolls Mirage in dark tan. She belongs to a dear friend of mine and I'm so glad she let me work on the second shell for the character. Without further ado, onto some pictures! The doll is a wonderful chocolate tan, which can be tricky to blush as the pastels change after you seal them. They always look lighter at first, fortunately I've worked on such dark resin before and can safely assume how it'll look once sealed.
I can't wait to see her styled by her owner! I loved the old shell too, but this new one is fantastic for the character. At least she no longer has a white wig, so I didn't have to battle with white eyebrows/lashes! That's all from me for now, until next time! I had a productive weekend and finished not one, but two heads! One needed to be wiped as well as her default face up was too soft for the character. Both belong to the same client, and they are a sibling pair. One is a Little Cosmos Doll Bastian and the other is a Little Rebel André. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the Little Cosmos Doll Bastian in tea skin. She turned out cute, though I struggled with the applied eyelashes. I might re-glue them before I give her back to her owner! Then here we have her big brother, an Little Rebel André in tan skin! For him the client asked for smoky eyes. And I made him some acrylic eyes as well to complete his intense look.
Both were very fun to work on and I'm glad I got to work on two new sculpts for me! Until next time! I was a busy bee these past few days. I managed to paint and finish up a commission that included a body blush and 5 face plates! The doll is a Goblin Tales Mossling in dark tan and orange. I still have more to work on for the client, like a pair of wings I sculpted and cast, but that is my goal for today. Without further ado, onto some pictures! Whew! There we go, all 5 faceplates plus the body. The body was all dark tan other than the lower arm pieces, so I had to paint the belly leaf and the inside of the ears lighter so I could match it to the faceplates. He's a little Autumn spirit, and I'm so glad I got to work on one of these cuties.
That is all from me for now, hopefully I'll have more work to show tomorrow! I hope all the USA peeps had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday! I was a busy bee and painted the dyed Dollzone Scorpio. I've taken a few days off from work to spend time with my mom and stepdad as they flew in on Tuesday! It's been fun, but boy am I beat from all the sightseeing we've been doing! Anyway, onto some pictures of the Scorpio! I did not do the dyeing this time (hence why it doesn't look terrible!), but MisMantis did it before she sent it to me to paint for the client. The concept is based on Sedona rock formations with succulents all along the back.
It was an interesting challenge to paint as the Scorpio is dyed dark tan. No matter what I tried, the orange pastels simply didn't want to show up after sealing, so I went darker instead. The succulent rosettes were fun to do, and I covered everything with interference green shimmer powder, so she sparkles nicely! Now for the FYI: I'm re-opening commissions for limited slots! I have one new commission on me so far, but I have room for more! With my work schedule I can't take on as much as I used to and keep a reasonable turn around time... So for commissions, no more than 2 parts per slot, like 2 heads, or a head and a body, etc. I'm hoping I can keep on top of them better this time! I haven't been officially open for commissions in so long, but I crave fresh ideas to realize! Oh! Another thing to mention, I was sent some owner pictures! Be sure to hop into the Owner Gallery to see! I absolutely love owner pictures, and am sad at how few I get... (hint hint send me owner pictures). That's all from me for now, until next time! It's been a while since I've updated the site, so I cleaned up the example gallery a little, removing older face ups to keep the rest more up to date to my current skill level. I also repainted my Fairyland LTF Dark Elf Soo in tan skin because her old face up had bothered me for a while... I'll get to the FYI after the face up pictures. Here's my little cutie! I actually had to start over 2/3 of the way through the face up because I hated how her blushing was coming out. It looked like she'd gotten sunburnt! But that is a shame that I did not document with photos, so let's just sweep that failure under the rug to be forgotten forever. Here's the comparison of her previous to current face up. I've owned her since 2013 I think (got her secondhand), and her last face up was on her for a good 4 years, so it was time to redo it. What was entertaining was that she has yellowed in that time, except under her old eyebrows. I'm not the most careful with my own dolls, but commissions I treat with waaaay more respect than my own because I don't care if my dolls yellow. But I don't want to do that to a client's doll!
Anyway, onto the FYI: I'm closing new commissions for the moment because I have so many multipart ones incoming that I want to devote my time to. I'd rather keep my turn around time as it is while I'm looking for a full time job here again. I will make a blog post and update the landing page of my site when I'm ready to take on more again! That is all for now, until next time! I had a very productive Saturday yesterday, I did 3 face ups from start to finish! I painted a HZ Wang-Ye in tan skin, a Fairyland MNF RFA event head in natural skin, and a Resinsoul Rong head in white skin. The two MSD sized heads were from one client, and the Wang-Ye was from another. I have one more doll to do for that client and everyone can go home! Anyway, without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the HZ Wang-Ye, or as the client calls him "Mr. Angry-Face". He came with a face up already which the client wanted me to redo with more anger in the brows. Before he kinda just looked like "Meh", now he's full on rage! Figuring out the blushing palette was interesting as his resin is kind of translucent. Here's his before and after image. The client asked me to keep the designs as close as possible like on the first face up, but with some small modifications. He's definitely an angry doll! Next up are the two MSD sized heads for a different client! I always love working on their dolls. First up is the Fairyland MNF RFA event head in natural skin. With this face up I was asked for freckles along the cheeks and nose, natural blushing and make up. I always love doing freckles, pity hardly any of my dolls have them! Then last, but certainly not least, is the Resinsoul Rong in white skin. She's a woodland sprite/nymph and I was asked to keep her color scheme in tune with that, but otherwise I had a lot of freedom. She was oddly yellowed in the face, which is really strange as she's been in a bag since the client dropped her off with me. I managed to cover it with the face up at least!
That's all for now, until next time! I had a nice and productive weekend, despite only having Sunday off this past week. I worked 6 days at my job, which is fine, but it does cut into my face up time a bit. Anyway, I worked on a Heartstrung Bulbi and a Luts Kid Delf Satyresse Yul. The Bulbi I was asked to paint naturally, and the Yul I was given artist choice. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the Heartstrung Bulbi in chocolate dark tan skin. I'm not sure why my sealant went so shiny on the head, might be because I was using Purity Seal rather than MSC. I tried matting it down by doing the final coat with MSC, but it didn't help much. This resin color is always an interesting challenge for me to work on, because blushing doesn't really show up very well. I promise it is there though! Then next up with we have the Luts KDF Satyresse Yul in light tan. She belongs to a friend and has been hanging out at my place for ages because they couldn't make up their mind on what they wanted for her. Finally my friend settled on artist choice so I had fun with it. They love the work, so I'm happy too!
That's all from me for now, until next time! I finally got some more work done this week! I finished up the Fairyland MNF Rohan for the same client as the Impldoll Martin, and then I took some time to paint one of my own dolls that I had just recently received. She's an April Story Betty on the new SD16 body. Anyway, onto some pictures! First up is the Fairyland MNF Rohan in tan skin. She's meant to be a snow queen. I was given a ton of references as a mood board and I took it from there. The client loves how she looks. I just wish I could get a good shot of how nicely the lips and eyes shimmer between blue and purple. Pictures just do the work no justice... I'm excited to see some owner pictures! And then here's my April Story Betty in normal skin. I got her secondhand and she's got a bright blue wig, so blue eyebrows and lashes were a must! Also the scar was necessary too (fell on her face as a child in some gravel trying to skateboard). I'm not entirely happy with the eyelashes, but for now the face up can stay so she's not blank. I'm over all pleased with the face up. Quick picture of her put together. I need to trim the bangs on the wig and thin the volume out in the back. It's ridiculously fluffy, but I love the color. She also stole my Skullery necklace. Why are my dolls such thieves??
Anyway, until next time! We're supposed to get snow tomorrow, so we'll have to see if I get anymore face ups done! I finally got one of the big guys done, the Impldoll Idol SGB Boy body in tan skin. I had already finished his face a few weeks ago, but then I had to blush his body and add a scar onto his thigh to look like a shark bite. Word or the wise, do not look up "shark bite scars" on google if you don't want to see a bunch of fresh wounds. I finally gave up trying to find a good reference and improvised. Anyway, onto some pictures! Here we have the detail shots of the body. So much work went into the blushing and then I had to restring him. Surprisingly he was easier to restring than the Iplehouse FID Lawrence I have to blush. He was floppy and needed a restringing so he'll be next to get blushed. He already has a face up, so he just needs a body blush! Fortunately he's MSD sized, unlike this guy who's roughly 72cm tall. I was sent his wig too to color-match his eyebrows and the such. I struggled a bit with trying to figure out which way was up or down for it. I even made this guy a little shark tooth necklace made of a real fossilized shark tooth I got while on vacation. I have more of them, as my doll Jazz needs one.
Until next time! I had a very productive weekend! I finished up the Aileen Doll Cyclops and got a face up done on the Impldoll Martin. I still need to do his body blush, mani/pedi, and do a scar mod on his thigh. Without further ado, onto some pictures! First up is the Aileen Doll Cyclops girl in white skin. I only had one eye the right size for her, which entertainingly enough came from another Aileen Doll Cyclops, but the boy version with the fully open eye. For this commission I glued in magnets for the horns in the head, nebula/galaxy face up, blush the horns, and do a mani/pedicure too with blushing. Then next we have the Impldoll Martin in tan skin. The client, a very good friend of mine, asked me to bronze him up a bit as if he's in the sun a lot as he's a surfer character. Now to just blush his body the same way! He also needs a shark bite scar mod on his thigh, which'll be a fun challenge for me!
Commissions are still closed currently as I'm painting my way through all my commissions. I have a rather large pile still to get through. Thank you for everyone being so patient with me. My hours at work will finally go back to normal in a week! WOO! That means I can devote more time to commissions again, I can hardly wait! Until next time! I finally managed to finish the Ringdoll Fat Happiness and get him approved by the client! This past week was crazy with work and appointments, but I finally had some time yesterday to paint him. Without further ado, onto some pictures! For some odd reason my black paint didn't want to show up on him very well. I swear that I did give him painted eyelashes!! He still turned out cute at least! He was certainly a tough commission for me as I had to sand him head to toe and then dye him, which I'd never done before. I don't think I will offer dyeing as a service though, I'll just stick to small mods, piercings, and face ups/body blushes of course. Either way, he's done and ready to go home! Either way, I'm hoping to work on more stuff today once I wake up a little more!
Now for an FYI: I decided to close commissions until the new year because I'll be in Florida with the inlaws from December 26th through the 31st, so I'd rather try to get through the ones I have now before I leave than take on anymore and make the clients wait an extra week. Thank you to everyone to make the year nice! Until next time! It's been a looooong week for me work wise so it felt good to work on dolls today a bit! I mostly did modding work, I'm hoping to actually face up tomorrow! I finally dyed the Ringdoll Fat Happiness to a nice chocolate tan color. It didn't turn out very even, but it's still decent for my first time dyeing a doll. I had already sanded him completely as he had a previous dye job that hadn't gone too well. The client is happy with the dye job, so now I can finally give him a face up! What amazed me the most with the Fat Happiness is that he's a lot bigger than I thought! He's a large YoSD! Either way, I used iDye Poly in brown to get him this color. I kept increasing the timer to get all the pieces the same color roughly! It's amazing how different he looks from when he first arrived to me. Then here's the other doll I modded today, a Resinsoul Mei in light tan/coffee color. The client only wanted me to give her fangs, they are going to try their hand at giving her a face up themselves. I was happy to do the mod for them. Once the fangs cure fully I'm going to clean up the grey on the lip.
That's it for now from me, until next time! I FINALLY got some new work to show! I had a productive Saturday yesterday and finished up the Impldoll Isaac and repainted a CP Luts Delf Lishe as well. I spent close to 6 or 7 hours just face upping yesterday, it was glorious! My work schedule's been really crazy so I've only been able to face up on the weekends. Anyway, onto some pictures! First up the Impldoll Isaac for a friend of mine. I was pretty much done with him when I was asked to add the illusion of an eyelid crease to him as the owner didn't quite like the monolid look. I'm actually rather proud of how it turned out since I don't do the painted eyelid crease thing at all. I only used pastels to do it. Then here we have a CP Luts Delf Lishe in the original tan from 10 years ago. She's an old (but beautiful) gal owned by a local client. She wanted me to recreate as closely as possible her default face up. We agreed that I wouldn't be able to replicate it perfectly as I have a different style most of the time, but I got it pretty close! Either way, she loves her new face and that's the most important part. She aslo asked me to pierce her ears, which is a simple enough mod. Now she gets to wear pretty earings!
I'm hoping to do some face up work today too, but I'm still a bit undecided. I started on the Doll Chateau Andre yesterday too, but ran out of steam... Until next time! I finally documented the Luts Senior Delf Girl Type 1 body in light tan yesterday and got the images approved by the client. Now just to pack her up, the SDF Summer 2016 event head and get some shipping estimates! Anyway, onto some pictures! I'm quite proud of the blushing, and it really is a beautiful body and poses oh so nicely. She has subtle freckling all along her chest and back, and some along her upper arms. I tried to keep them in places where the joints wouldn't rub in the sockets. Now to just get her packed up and sent home! I'm hoping today to work on more face ups again as yesterday I hit a wall after work due to a bad migraine. I'm feeling much better today and as long as the weather holds I should be fine! This morning I also FINALLY dusted the doll dresser, it was getting pretty grey from dark brown/nearly black. Whoops... It just took a little bit because there's 27 dolls between my wife and I. The cats were most excited by the dresser being doll-less and I had to shoo them away the boogers. This is all of them currently. I'm slowly saving up towards one more, but I fear I have to grab into my doll fund to get my car fixed. Something got mucked up when I got new tires and the alignment fixed... Now my car won't start properly. Fortunately we do have enough saved up to maintain my car. We can't afford for me not to be mobile on my own. Sorry for the rambling!
Anyway, that's all from me for now, until next time! |
