Once again, I've been a busy busy bee with face up work. I've just about finished everything I have on me, other than the DF-A BoBo and the Little Rebel Andre as the owner is waiting on his body to see if he needs a color match in the face!
Things I painted the past few days are: Notdoll Ligaya, Mystic Kids Evelyn, Fairyland PukiPuki Mary, and again my Dollzone Daomiao-2 because she chipped her face up due to my rough handling of her.
Without further ado, onto some pictures!
First up is the Notdoll Ligaya in crystal rose skin rocking a goth look with dark blue lips. This gal's head is massive, and requires at least 18-20mm eyes. I didn't have anything in those sizes (other than some demon eyes in 18mm), so she got some grey 16mm eyes put in.
It's rare that I get to do gothic face ups, I mostly get to do natural or fantasy. Despite that, I still enjoy doing darker face ups too!
Then next up is another goth beauty, this time a Mystic Kids Evelyn in normal pink skin. She was tough to get clean because I swear her old eyelashes had been superglued in place. I could not get them off, not even with isopropyl alcohol! I finally had to scrape them off with a pin and rip them out with tweezers. Good thing they were already heavily damaged so I didn't feel bad ripping them further apart.
This little thing is a Fairyland PukiPuki Mary in natural skin. I was given free reign with her, so she got a fantasy face up! Glittery blue make up, but otherwise naturally blushed. I need to secure her wig better too. She belongs to the same client as the Mystic Kids Evelyn.
Last, but not least, is the redo face up on my Dollzone Daomiao-2 in normal pink skin. I'm actually much more satisfied with this face up than the last one. Just kind of annoying that I had to repaint her so quickly... Either way, she's a cute little thing, being the tallest of my YoSDs.
I'm still open for commissions as most that I've done these last two weeks are already back with their owners! I still need to restring the Mystic Kids Evelyn, but then she and the PukiPuki are ready to return home to their owner. I am expecting one more commission from the USA, which'll be a fun one to work on!
I was finally able to do a new face up yesterday on a Fairyland PukiPuki ChiChi in natural skin. He's such an angry tiny little face. It's always fun for me to work on the tinies even if sometimes I feel like my eyes are going to pop out of my head. Hooray for hyper close up vision (I'm very near sighted)!
Anyway, onto some pictures!
He really is minuscule! When I looked up the sculpt on Flickr I learned that he often comes with a rude hand, which I think is adorably offensive. The tiny skull on the cheek is actually painted by me, and is very tiny, no bigger than 2.5mm at best. I was amazed that my hands were steady enough for it!
Such a smol head next to a US quarter, just to give an idea of how tiny he really is.
I was finally able to finish 2 multi-part commissions yesterday. I feel super accomplished with getting them finally done. I didn't manage to document them while it was still light out and my good camera is still fighting me, but I'm pleased with the outcome.
First up is the really big commission, the Magical Angel Kelly girl who had the whole spa treatment. She got a face up, premium eyelashes, a body blush, manicure, and a pedicure.
I'm really proud of the hands. I've hardly done manicures even if I do offer them as a service. I've also moved away from watercolor pencils and am now using watercolor paints out of the tube. I don't have the greatest brand (Koi) but it's been working well so far.
Next up is a little Fairyland PukiPuki Flora in white skin as well. She just got a clean up and a face up.
She got a natural face up, which was pretty easy to do on such a tiny head. She's about the size of a quarter!
The last part, the Dollzone Dale, I will post later once I get her body documented as well. She got a face up and body blush.
I also received another two part commission in the mail yesterday, a Souldoll Vito Lester and a Lumedoll Blaze, who is miniscule. His head is a 3-4 wig size and his eyes are so tiny I hope I don't drop them!
Either way, I'll update soon again!
Finished up that Puki Puki from the previous entry this morning. I'm rather happy with the end result. I just need to get her approved, my services paid, and then I'll ship her back home.
As you can see, the head isn't much bigger than a quarter. Click on the image for a bigger view. I also have a before and after image below.
I managed to work a little on a face up this morning, a Fairyland PukiPuki Piki. She's super cute. I couldn't finish her before having to run to work.
I don't have much left on her, mostly doing eyelashes and gloss. That's all that's really left on this face up. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow morning if the weather's nice.
A little view of the face up work I did today. The first is a patch job, the middle is my 50th face up, and the last is a Monster High doll I got for christmas that I was finally able to paint.
I was finally able to work on the patch job on the chin and lips of a little puki puki faceplate. The lips were chipped and the chin was scruffed off a bit, so I cleaned that up, wiped the lips with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip and then set to work.
I'm happy with the end result. Only the lips are mine, everything else was already there. Puki Puki heads are so puny to work on! Grape head indeed.
She's going home tomorrow since today I got class until 6pm and the post office closes at about 5pm.
